Wlads my favorite fighter, but he was over cautious tonight. He didn't stay in the pocket for a second, even though he had put the fight in the bag long ago. Sometimes just winning is not enough, he has to do more to draw attention. I bet you anything, even though Wlad has a more impressive resume, Vitali is still more popular among casual fans simply because he produced one great fight with Lennox.

There are exciting ways of doing that, and boring ways to do it. He just did it the boring way. He didn't take openings that were there, and he didn't open up with his best punch for over half the fight, even though it's customary to lead with the right against a southpaw. Certainly he fought to win, but not up to his capabilities. I don't care that he went the distance, just that he didn't fight as well as he could have.

Didn't you score DLH/Mayweather for Oscar? Odd for someone who considers the "hit and don't get hit" aspect of the game so heavily.

There's hitting and not getting hit, and then there's fighting extremely conservatively, just hard enough to get the upper hand, even when your opponent is hardly doing anything himself.

Exactly. He could have done so much more.

I don't get why so many people are defending Wladimir for giving a subpar performance. As the boxer, I'm guessing Wlad is happy with his win, but as a viewer, I was bored.

Wlad could have easily hit more, without getting hit in return.

He scored Oscar over Pea and Mayweather due to landing the harder punches, even though they landed more punches and more accurately, yet he scored the second Mosley fight for Oscar, even though Shane landed the harder punches, but Oscar landed more. Also a bit hypocritical.

He seems to base his opinions on what his favorite fighters do rather than his own logic.

wtf? Whad does Oscar vs Mayweather have to do with this? I think that Oscar's defense against Mayweather was great. I point that out all of the time. Floyd was getting all sorts of credit for landed shots that were being blocked by Oscar's gloves. What the hell does the "hit and not get hit" have to do with this? I have never critized any boxer for doing it.

Oscar landed DOUBLE the power punches that Whitaker landed. Had nothing to do with hitting and not being hit. Get your facts straight, and stop trying to change the argument.
