From the two-fisted polemical beatdown you've taken, primarily from SweetPea.

We all lose arguments. Accept it and move on :good

Widdow and I have had our go rounds, but he did say that he scored the first fight for Mosley.

Now with that being said he is full of **** about this whole hit and not get hit thing, cuz he was crying like a baby if a certain fighter doesnt stand and fight even if it isnt his style.:good

When have I ever cried about a fighter not standing and fighting? Besides that... it isn't as if Wlad never does that. However, certain boxers just aren't built to stand and fight, and I have NEVER bashed on them for it. It is also one thing to run away an entire fight, and another thing to do what Wlad did. Wlad stalked Ibragimov the entire fight, and came to him, pushed the pace of the fight and Sultan simply refused to make a fight of it, because he knew that if he opened up, he would be knocked out. So, Wlad dominated him with what was available without fighitng wrecklessly for no reason.

People are pretending that Wlad was running away the entire fight or something. He simply controlled the distance, and stalked Sultan with caution.

See... this is one of the morons that I said would actually believe what Sweatpea was saying, without bothering to research the facts themselves.

Here is a tip for you... someone making up some lies about another person, and then being debunked on those lies... only to come back and say that you have been exposed for the **** that they made up... isn't a beatdown. Sorry.

Of course, you follow me to every section of this forum, disagreeing with everything that I say about anything. So... it's a real wonder why you would think it was. Takes a genius to figure you guys out.

Well said, and Widdow has no response to this.

This is why compubox should be scrapped altogether. It's totally misleading.

There is no parity between power punches (as they define it) and hard punches. Basically they count anything as a powerpunch so long as it's not a jab. And basically they'll count it regardless of whether it's grazing, whether it's semi blocked or whether it's flush.

Someone like Widdow will come out and tell us that DLH landed more power shots than Felix Strum as a justification for why he won. Sure he landed more power punches, meaning he landed more non-jabs. Now as to who was landing harder shots, it's not even debateable, Strum's jabs were popping DLH's head back like a pez dispenser and DLH was slapping Strums elbows and hips with his "power punches".

Even in a fight like DLH-Whitaker, to say DLH landed twice as many power punches is totally misleading. How many of those shots were hard punches? And secondly, and most importantly, how many of those shots were landing flush? Anyone watching the fight with a semblance of intelligence (like a Roy Jones or a Larry Merchant in this instance) will tell you that that was a misleading stat. DLH wasn't catching Whitaker hard and clean with many of his so called power punches. I think it's pretty debateable about who landed the better punches in that fight really. Ultimately I think Whitaker was landing cleaner, but DLH's punches, although not landing clean, had more mustard behind them than Whitaker's. So it was a hard fight to call as to who's punches were more effective.

Hit and dont get hit is the art of boxing??? that explains why you're such a fan.
Hit and dont get hit should not be taken literally like what Vlad and Iggy just did. You engage in a way that your opposition gets beaten and you taking the lesser punishment should emerge the clear winner. The hit and dont get hit term is used in a deeper sense, its about skills and talent. What we saw tonight didnt need talent nor skills..It was a BIG coward imposing he's physical advantage over a SMALLER coward.

It is a misleading stat to say the least. Effective punches are not always power punches or even the hardest punches. If the jab is controlling the fight, and the other fighter is winging shots that are grazing but not landing flush trying to get around said jab, then it's not a fair assessment to say that the fighter who landed more power shots won. He was still being controlled by the jab.

From Ruiz one expected nothing more. The ropes did save Sultan from going down, once.

jeus christ on a stick, what the hell do you expect from a man with a glass chin with in the ring with a man with over 85% KO's? 17/23, with no need to be over brave.

since the 70's as a kid and you know I appreciate stick and move styles emphasis on the stick. But a lot of fighters today just jab and run and there is a difference. I can appreciate 3 four punch combos and your out. But many times now what you see is a half ass jab and running.

Who cares about the naysayers. They will never accept Wlad for who he is- the best HW champion today. There is always some sort of excuse for not giving him credit.
