[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h227sP9Gc-I&feature=related[/ame] So this what i call boxing, one of the slickest sickest boxers of all time. one of the most talented fighters off all time. great chin, awesome head movment, jabs and rights hands for dayz. former mw, cw and hw champ of the world and future wba interim cw James Lights Out Toney :bbb:bbb
Hes got nasty natural skill and seems to have confidence and calm about him in the ring as he handles his business, which is key. Too bad he's a slurring shell of his former self these days.
So you think he's going to win the Lebedev fight eh.... I'm surprised how many people see that happening. I saw a poll here with over 2/3 of the votes in favour of Toney. :think Prime and even the on the slide version of Toney was a truely great boxer, but current Toney not so much. And everyone knows, if it's close Denis will get the verdict, this fight isn't taking place in the US.
yeah i know, i sayed tarver would ko danny green as well. i had no idead green was the favor like that. fighters like green and lebedev are more of brawlers then boxers.styles alone would make me favor toney or him and fighters like him 100 x over. i could be wrong a few of those times but just only a few.
A special talent that although successful did not meet his full potential. If he was more disiplined he could have gone down as one of the greatest. Still a LEGEND though.
Ya know:think.....come to think of it, his slurring might be moreso his garbling, just in an older deeper(testostere enhanced) voice. If you listen to interviews form him while even still a 25 yo SMW, he was garbling his words together, and he talks to fast to be considered totally punch drunk. Ledbedev better be ready to CP, making a potential boring fight, but it was key to Jirov surviving long enough in their fight to make it interesting at the end.
Toney represents the sweet science. If he had more discipline and work ethic he could have achieved more in his career.
Toney ist the epitome of the sweet science. The most skilled boxer from MW upwards in the last 20-25 years, hands down. Maybe even more than that. And one of the toughest fighters to ever lace em up, regardless of era. Like him as a person or not, but if you like boxing, you like watching James Toney inside the ring.
best with the shoudler roll ive ever seen. But on the offense he could look a bit ordinary. defensively, one of the best ever.
