    Go the distance with Mike?

For example, Buddy had an iron chin and was extremely tall/heavy. 6'6 and 1/2 and he easily averaged 240 pounds if not more.

Other tall fighters like Mitch Green and Tucker managed to last the distance with peak Tyson.

They could change their names to "Huggy" Baer and attempt to hold on for the duration. But I'm not sure the Baer brothers could hold like the "post-Alis" of the 80s.

I think they take the fight to Tyson and get TKO'd'.
I think Max had a great chin but no defense.
Buddy had a lesser chin and less offense, but at least semblance or a sense of defense.
Tyson makes short work of them, in all likelihood.

Max had one of the best chins of all time, only the great Joe Louis stopped him for the ten count, and Baer was completely conscious as he took the count. I think the question here is whether we are talking prime, prepared Baer - say of the Schmeling or Carnera fights, or a lesser version.

If it's a lesser version I could see him talking a count ala the Louis fight, or maybe a late TKO like his fights with Nova (the only other times he was stopped). Prime, prepared Max Baer makes it to the final bell and loses a wide UD.

Tough call but if Max got past rouund 6 he might conceivably make it into a Tyson Ruddock II type fight.

Yes, it's a possility that Max could do what Ruddock did, or better.

I just think Max would come out blazing like he did against Joe Louis - and with similar results. Tyson would win by TKO in 3-7 rounds.

Defense was Baer's weakness, he'd leave himself open.
Razor Ruddock would throw one or two shots at a time against Tyson and then get counter-attacked, back-up and clinch, Baer would come out swinging - giving Tyson even more opportunity to counter.

One thing's for sure, Max at his best would give a more entertaining fight against Tyson than the "huggy" fighters who went the distance. Apparently, Baer was scared the night he had to face Joe Louis - but if you watch the fight he still went for it ! He didn't run and hold all night.

Someone who gets knocked out in a single round does not have an iron chin. His brother did, though. I don't see either of them lasting.

Against a prime mike id say no,maybe 5 or so rounds, but max would have a great chance if he got that far,a later tyson and id say yes, maxie may even put him down.

Yeah, I wouldn't say that Buddy had an iron chin, either. Generally adequate, perhaps - but nowhere near as good as Max's. Tyson probably takes him out in the middle rounds.

Both Baers had good chins ,Max the better ,while Buddy covered up a little more effectively,Baer has a shot if he can land his overhand right ,but Max threw punches one at a time,I think Tysons handspeed would be too much for both of them ,it might play out like the Ruddock fights.Buddy would come to fight and get a few shots in ,but I think he would end up taking a messy beating .though he could rock Tyson early.

They had the power, the strength, and the chin, and on their best nights they were tough enough to compete with anyone, but I think they lacked the skill to KO Tyson.
