You are aware Clay was a 6'3" 180lb EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD, right. And that when Chris Byrd won his medal in the 158lb amateur middleweight division he was well into his twenties and a fully developed man, right?

You are aware there is a difference between Middleweight and Light heaveyweight, right?

    Just checking.

Wladimir Klitschko is 6'6", peace in the Ukraine.

lISTON WAS ABOUT 6' 1 TOPS BUT I THINK CLOSER TO 6', SONNY WAS THICK FOR HIS DAY AND HAD A GOOD REACH FOR A MAN HIS SIZE. BIG CAT WAS A GOOD FIGHT FOR HIM BUT CLEVELAND WAS TALLER THAN SONNY. STILL VLAD WAS MUCH BIGGER IN EVERY WAY THAN CLEVELAND.A YOUNGER BIG CAT WAS KO'D IN 3 BY 174LB BOB SATTERFIELD BEFORE FACING SONNY

Max Baer was indeed a good sized heavyweight.

Today on a contemporary training regime he would probably weigh in at 230-240lbs in lean condition.

I don't see how Max would be a lot larger post boxing... He was more than a little lax WHEN active.

Don't think it would be a Marciano style post boxing weight gain.

    The guy simply looked huge.

well the chris byrd size comparison probably does liston favours.byrd hasn't done too badly in the era of the super heavyweights, and he was a light hitter. also holyfield and tyson.holyfield gave bowe all the trouble he could handle in 3 fights.the thing is sonny was a big heavyweight for his day when the champions had been 13 stone guys like marciano and patterson.he generally weighed between 210-212 pounds. with some of todays weight gaining methods liston could possibly come in at 225/230 pounds and i would suggest still be a scary prospect for todays big heavies.

If we could get fighters from diferent eras to stand next to each other we would get a few surprizes.

The light heavyweight limit in the amateurs is 178, the middleweight limit in the amateurs is 165, where did you get 158 from?

Reply to your patent ownage, dont try and nitpick your way out of your bitchhood. Chris Byrd weighed 158lbs in Barcelona.

Is it not OK to describe a 178lb man as "180lbs"? :patsch

Imagine Bitchko without steroids and weightlifting, you'de essentially have a 6'6" beanpole with a giraffe neck and an even stronger propensity for being knocked out in brutal fashion.

Look at Vitali in his kickboxing career before he got heavily involved with steroids (and was disgraced and banned from the Olpympics as a steroid cheat) - he was a 200lb skinny, lanky pole. If you think Waldo is clean (especially given his weird, borderline incestuous relationship with his brother) you are, uhm...quite naive. Okay, Wladimir might not be a juicer. Jenna Jameson might be a virgin, we can't say with total certainty.

It is hard to take anything you say seriously given your hate for the Klitschkos. The fact is that Byrd weighed the same in the pros as Liston did, and they were the same height.

Now I never mentioned the Klitschkos, you did, nor did I mention their height, you did that as well. I simply stated, as their height and weight measurements in the pros have shown, that Liston and Byrd were basically the same size.

Read the thread, you're repeating crap thats been said.

Ignoramuses, children and Klitshcko lickers think theres no difference between a former middleweight 'bulking up' 40lbs and a natural 210lb man.

I mean really, is it a hard concept to grasp? Can you literally only process the numbers of a persons height and weight and have zero cognisance of any other variable? When its explained to you in very plain detail?

I belive there are two possibilities:

1/ Manic Klitschko hugging (nobody 6'6" and that handsome can lose, ever)

2/ You (and Potius et al) are just plain idiots, which I didnt initially think was the case, but its becoming more of a realistic explanation.

I have yet to bring up Klitschko, something you fail to notice over and over again since your hate for the man is all consuming, but did it occur to you that maybe Chris, like most people, matured physically and actually is a true 210-215 pound adult? I suppose you believe that Liston would have beat Lewis.

People like you, who probably aren't old enough to actually remember that era and just make it mythic, don't realize how truly small those guys were even compared to smaller heavies today like Chagaev and Povetkin.
