No matter what you think of Galento, he was a top rated contender.

You're right, Fortune is worse than Clisby who destroyed Galento.

This speaks volumes for the talent level of that era.

How many right hands does a person have? If you mean he only hit him one time in the fight with that hand you are wrong, they were landing at will, Lewis was rocked by one 30 seconds before the ko.

I can see him losing a close decision to Ibeabuchi.

What about starting a "Better All-Around Fighter - Thread", so that you can show some of your wisdoms again?

Bad style for JL, LL controlled range well and his right hand is top tier...much harder than Schmeling...with LL it doesn't take 12 rds and tons of rights over the jab...it takes 1

Lewis will take this. This is where the combination of size and skill comes together to deliver a result where people will in retrospect say "it's unfair, Lewis was just too big". Louis obviously would be a live underdog and he'd have a chance due to his punching power. But if I had to bet, it would be on Lewis, and, despite what a lot of the sentimental guys are saying here, if they had to put their own dosh down, it would be on Lewis too.

I feel Eric Crumble is going to be mentioned sooner or later in this thread ...

Given Lewis physical advantages and Louis deficiencies on defense this epic fight on paper could end up as a mismatch.

You'd have to give Louis a puncher's chance, but I think he is in over his head, and without the top chin that would be needed to rebound from his mistakes.
