I've said it before, a while ago, yet for some reason people took offense to it. It was true a couple of years ago, and is now even more true than ever.

There is not a single metropolitan area, let alone many entire countries, in the world, that can match the trio of Nonito Donaire, Andre Ward, and Robert Guerrero.

Donaire is coming off that spectacular KO over one of the world's pound for pound elite, Fernando Montiel, and before that, shocking the world with his massive KO over Darchinyan, who was absolutely feared at the time. Andre Ward has now entered the top ten pound for pound ranks, has dominated world class competition, opened eyes, proved millions wrong worldwide, and hasn't even revealed his full arsenal as of yet. Robert Guerrero has been on the map for quite some time, but is now coming off a major statement fight recently against Katsidis that DEMANDS notice and at least top pound for pound consideration.

Get ****y if you must, but those are the facts.

Its about damn time as Southern Cali has been picking up the slack for tooooooooo long.. HAHHA! What i mean by that is that most of the top tier fighters out of Cali have been from Southern Cali. There have been quite a few champions from Sactown though.. .. Its good to see some elite guys coming from the other cities.

chaves junior is from south cali(went to school there) i also think alfonso gomez is south cali native although not superstars still well worth noting

Oscar dela hoya although he isnt respected by many of the mexican natives who claim he isnt an honourable fighter? I think he is well respected by his boxing peers.
    Sugar shane mosley
    fernando vargas(la coronia oxnard)
    sergio mora
    vernon forrest(rip)
    Victor ortiz(la coronia oxnard)
brandon rios (la coronia oxnard)just won the wba strap
    all from southern cali
antonio margaritto isnt from southern cali but trained at la coronia for bouts which included his defeat to manny pacquiao and therefore highlights the quality of the southern cali fight scene

how do you 'kick england ass'? By naming a bunch of guys who moved to cali for boxing reasons, not by naming california born fighters. Its the same with Vegas, fighters move thier from around the world to train etc as that is probably the central hub of boxing. You dont see non-americans moving to ohio do you! name your current top 5 cali boxers....real cali, not 'moved here so now they are californain'...england kos them

The united kingdom is very different in size and landscape, culture to the united states

Nottingham is very different from london and bolton(lancashire) is very different from both they have different accents although they all speak english there backgrounds are very different from a no of perspectives when taking into account cultural differences fighting styles..
