real shame but the safety of the fighter must come first knowing hes one punch away from brain bleeding i wouldnt want to fight him maybe3 he could go back to the AMS.

Would he be able to go in the WSB? That's headguard free now also.

Does anyone know if the BBBC's medical guidlines are stricter than other bodies?

I feel sympathy for the guy but can see it from both sides, and can't see how the BBBC would change their mind without substantial medical support for Weaver

Something similar happened up in Scotland years ago, John Mullen from Irvine wanted to turn pro but there was an issue with his brain scan. His boxing career was over, the Scottish Amateur Boxing Association wouldn't allow him to box again for the same reason.

Hope he doesn't go the EBF route like so many who can't get a BBBC license.

If he's been given the all clear by other doctors. Why won't they license him? If it's legal action surely they could get him to sign some kind of consent form!?

What does the 1 in 1000 odds refer to. The odds the cist will bleed?

If it is a case where if he were to take 1000 punches to the head in his career, then there would be a very high chance of a bleed. If this is the case it would be totally irresponsible to license him.

    Also this.

Surprised Smug Eddie would consider promoting the kid even if he does get his license, too much negative publicity.
