Do you need to be a lawyer to understand you can't punch someone in the face because of an argument, and then have the audacity to claim you did it in self defense when that person made no contact. i'm not sure what the German Law is when it comes to self defense but because David Haye is a professional boxer, his hands might be classed as weapons outside of the ring.

It was a rhetorical question because the answer was obvious.

Did you know that slapping someone is an assault?
Did you know that spitting in someone's face is an assault?
And did you know that it is against the law to threaten to shoot, burn and kill someone?

Haye's punch can be justified. The use of the tripod would prove more difficult.

You should stick to watching L.A. Law.

Haye did throw his punch BEFORE Chisora had made any of those threats. Also the photos clearly show that he was holding the bottle when he did so. Any lawyer worth his degree would simply claim that Chisora was in an agitated state after being hit in the face with a bottle and was speaking outside of the norm. The the counter claim would probably be assault with a weapon.

You may be confusing things here. I am not a fighting fan. I am a boxing fan.

Boxing is fist-fighting inside a ring, using a referee, a doctor and a set of established rules. Not outside brawling under the influence of alcohol with no rules and zero precautions.

Are you one of those guys who stand around in a circle cheering when there's a brawl at the pub or at the club? **** like that is shameful.

I didn't say that Haye hit Chisora because of those threats.

Chisora had said that he would assault Haye before the altercation took place. He walked toward Haye and removed his jacket and then entered Haye's personal space. If Haye felt threatened he had the right to use reasonable and proportionate force to defend himself. And he did by punching Chisora. As for the bottle, Haye would just say that that goes to support his position that he did not intend to have an altercation with Chisora; cut ligaments from a broken bottle could have irreparably damaged his hand so he only threw the punch when he felt he was in danger.

Haye could get done for recklessly causing injury to Booth, which would be rather ironic.
