TehRileh, if you PM this thread to Stew (aka Longcount) or post it onto the Bring Back Bunce thread, he may put it on the Bunce site to highlight what the BBC aren't spending our licence fees off:good. Doesn't suprise me- BBC= Robbing *******s.

I don't see what they can do for boxing. Should they include all world title fights? All heavyweight world title fights? All WBC world title fights?

first off all its not just the BBC, it terrestrial TV.

Secondley I started an online petition earliar this this to get world title fights involving British fighter put on the B list and it only got 30 signitures. Even Buncey said he would not support it as boxers would be out of pocket.

If there was 1 world title it would probably work.

Why can't they sign a few deals with domestic promoters? If ITV can pick a contract up then why can't the BBC:think?

Its not only proffessional its the ameaturs as well. World Championship, ABA's. Are these now being dismissed. As BBC used to show them even if it was at STUPID times

P4P (excuse the phrase) for squad size, didn't the boxing lads bring home more medals than anyone else even taking into account the cyclists? Nice priorities, beeb:-(.

Back in the day on Sportsnight there used to be lots of great boxing... including the ABA's... on ITV we used to get Midweek Sports Special will lots of decent contests on.....

With all the BBC and ITV channels there is now reason why there cannot be at least 2 shows a week dedicated to boxing... Sky show Tightlines... with no disrespect to any keen fishermen on this site... surely boxing must be able to compete for airtime with a fishing programme?? :think

You forgot about Fight Night, either good UK card or Sot Chitalada or the Galaxy brothers and maybe a bit of action from the USA thrown in.

Wasn't ESPNs SuperBouts on the graveyeard shift somewhere as well? They'd say in the paper which fight they where showing which added to the suspense!! I've still got some of the VHS tapes I made of that program.

Exactly, it will cost peanuts next to boxing coverage. God, the more I look into us getting boxing on TV, the more it seems like a literal impossibility.

What about the Nark in the Park on ITV in 1997.... what a great fight that was for a midweek contest... top viewing....:good
