I would actually pick valuev

 

There is a point where the plain, basic, and crudely effective boxing of Valuev gets him killed against an elite counterpuncher with amateur pedigree and big bang in his gloves.

 

I got Zhang.

 

A good opportunity for Valuev to be knocked out in his career.

Zhang but Valuev would still be a tough fight. He struggled with an ancient Holyfield and lost to Haye and Chagaev but he’s no mug, he was just boring and had little ability to end fights. I think Zhang would have won a close decision.

Crazy to think you have people on here who claim Malik ‘Scuba’ Scott could have beaten Valuev.

 

Believe it not this is a tough match up for Zhang, Valuev had a solid jaw and the size to probably survive the early storm and wear down Zhang in 2nd half of the fight.

I'm not saying Valuev wins but the 2nd half of the fight would be very interesting.

There really isn't much between these two. Valuev was one of the worst to ever hold a title, but, Zhang hasn't even come close to holding a title in an even worse era. At his best (certainly not the Haye fight) Valuev might nick it by a hair as Zhang is known to gas late.

 

Zhang would near kill him. Are you kidding me, man?
