You could be right, but I don't think Usyk is going to have trouble signing to fight his mandatories, which I want to say are Joyce and maybe Parker. He wants Fury but I honestly don't see that happening any time soon. Fury has openly said that there is not enough money in Usyk, and, given his mental state, I think that there is an outside chance that he loses to Wilder and there is a quadrilogy. Also, since they make money on sanctioning fees, which are hypothetically the same for everyone, I am not sure if they care who the champ is. I think they allow unification when direct kick-backs are paid (I think the IBF was actually caught for something like this), so yes, Usyk's people will have to grease the right palms.
I really hope they strip Wilder if he wins and tries another fight with Fury. I'm fed up with them both. I watched the Usyk/AJ fight on replay in the morning (Korean time), and it just seemed refreshing ... my sister watched it in Australia and didn't know much about Usyk until now, but she does now. She likes Mexican fighters and her opinion (as a complete casual gravitating towards being a more informed fan) was Usyk reminder her of the fast moving aggressive Mexican fighters she likes. Usyk has brought something new to the HW equation, as might Arslanbek Makhmudov or any number of emerging contenders. Of course we will likely have a Joshua/Usyk rematch ... +Parker/Chisora again for the sake of it. Fury/Wilder just keeping on fighting each other maybe. Wilder/Fury have inflicted a kind of constipation on the HW division with all their negotiations BS and stalling.
What material are the belts made of that they would splinter? They are made of plastic and metal are they not? Those materials dont usually splinter, wood does though, and I dont think the belt is made of wood or any similar derivative of said substance.
It's possible I guess boxing is such a mess that it wouldn't shock me if that happened. While Usyk won't be the type to duck mandatories you can't know the machinations of certain promoters and how they could sway the sanctioning bodies to enforce unrealistic mandatories, remember when DM was mandated to fight his mandatory just over a month after unifying vs Hill. But maybe it won't happen. While Usyk isn't a cash cow like AJ his fights with Chisora and Bellew did well and now he's unified champion his marketability will only increase. He might be able to generate enough revenue from his own fights to satisfy the sanctioning bodies and prevent them from wanting to splinter the titles.
