This is exactly what I am talking about. Mothers don't defend their own children as much as you guys do for Floyd. You are one fine specimen!
And you won't give him an ounce of credit no matter what he does. Hating greatness is a ***** ass trait
This argument always makes me laugh, regardless of the subject. What's more productive and displays fewer qualities of a loser? A) Taking time out of your day to appreciate and defend something or someone you like. B) Taking time out of your day to discredit something you don't like and attack others for liking something. Going around whining because somebody appreciates something you don't is a trait of a pu$$y.
Don't think that's all the way true. I think Floyd is a tremendous talent, I give him credit for his wins. He's also definitely p4p #1. I can say and still be realistic with the fact that Floyd does and has cherry picked a lot of his opposition. Not only do I believe that's undeniable, he is also so afraid of losing that 0 that he does everything in his power to get more of an advantage during or leading up to a fight, which I don't think is necessary given his skill.
I'll give credit when I feel credit is due. What has Mayweather done that's credit worthy???? I cannot think of ANYTHING since he moved from 135 He fought in the Olympics Did well but did not get gold as he wanted So he :|:| he was robbed. He wasn't . He legitimately got beat He was blessed with incredible God Given boxing talents worthy of an ATG & one of TBE. BUT In my mind he basically wasted them by cherry picking opponents & ducking the legitimate opponents. He's behaved like a street punk that got a huge windfall. Assaulted several women & behaved obnoxiously to all. Success went to his head in a BIG BIG way You people have called me a Floyd hater & a Pac**** really I am neither. I'm an old time boxing fan that hurts to see the way the sport is declining. The corruption is blatant they don't even try to hide it these days in fact it seems to have become the norm. Basically I think Floyd could & should have been rated among TBE today but he isn't and never will be. Worst part is its his own fault . He could be idolized like Muhammad Ali known the world over as one of the GREATS but outside of boxing no one has a clue who he is. He has the charisma of a sewer rat. one of boxing tragedies reallyatsch
Good post. Mayweather has skill, but like RJJ wasted it fighting lower tier fighters and avoiding the real challenges.. To be fair to Mayweather, not every great fighter can be like and has the heart of De La Hoya, Ali, Duran, Robinson, Hopkins etc... These guys cared about Legacy. They had all the money they needed and also took all the fights that were important, unlike Mayweather and many talented fighters who just didn't have the will, nor the heart to challenge themselves at the very highest levels. Mayweather's boxing legacy took a hit by avoiding the best fights, This content is protected Any Floyd fanatic who says Mayweather has a great resume is lying to themselves. It is pretty much all carefully selected opponents from 140+. Floyd built his legacy around money, not around proving he was the best. Floyd is the best by default, not because he fought or beat the best. :deal Floyd himself has stated numerous times in the past that Legacy doesn't mean much to him, and that he only fights for money. SOmeone that only cares about money has loyalty issues. Mayweather doesn't care about his legacy (anymore) or his fans. Fighting Berto for his supposed last fight is a big middle finger to his fanatics. :deal For an ATG, P4P King, Mayweather has one of the worst legacies. This content is protected
Please don't compare RJJ to Floyd he at least fought Toney and Hopkins and accepted Tarvers's challenge afer capturing a HW title ..All things something Floyd would never do
You have a point. RJJ moved up to HW, and towards the tail end of his career he was willing to fight anyone. While RJJ has a great win over James Toney, Hopkins was still pretty green. As far as the Tarver fight, I'll give him credit for taking the rematch despite almost losing the first fight. But Tarver isn't even A level, never was. RJJ wasted a lot of time srtaying at 168 when he had great opponents at 175 and 160.
👍 Agree with this 100 percent. I think of Floyd of Roy very similarly, although RJJ was more skilled in my opinion. With RJJ, I don't know if it was about as much the money as it is with Floyd but more the danger of the sport. He had a fear of ending up like Gerald Mclellan
