ok, now we need a Canadian to claim him. Always wanted this fight. I’m American so I’m just an observer (who watched him beat up our best).
well, he’s the best HW to ever hold a Brit passport. He’s also the best HW to ever hold a Canadian passport. And he did fight for Canada in the Olympics. One can understand the fight over who claims him. He grew up in Canada, had his amateur career there, won gold for them in the Olympics.
Too bloody right I am . After the UK s history with heavyweight s , anyone like Lennox was a godsend .Lol
My Country of Birth is Scotland, my Country of living & coming of age & early living adult years, first half of my kids life is Canada my Country of choice for residing in is England... with that they are. Benny Lynch, though there are a few h2h rivals. Lennox Lewis - if LL is excluded it would probably be McClarnin, though Ireland tries to claim him, wrong! Len Harvey - defo, as old Gilbert Odd crowned him - the Prince of Boxing and for good reason.
In Denmark the obvious take is Mikkel Kessler, but I make it a draw between him and Tom Bogs. Bogs had much more fights and unfortunatly did not benefit from a SMV division. He was tight at middleweight, and the lightheavy boxers were too big for him. That the MW champ was Monzon and LHW was Bob Foster did not helt.
Seamus, if we're talking the State of Washington USA, where you and I are both from, I'd have to go with Freddie Steele. Haugen is high on the list, but so are others like Eddie Cotton, Harry Matthews, Leo Lomski, John David Jackson, etc.
