Boxing fans! This is one of the greatest little known boxing movies of all time!!! Anthony Quinn plays an aging HW that had enough talent to be a contender but never a Champ. In the begining of the movie he is beaten badly by the real Muhammad Ali (at that time he was still Cashius Clay). It's written by Rod Serling creator of the "The Twillight Zone" It also has a cameo of Jack Dempsey. Mickey Rooney is great as the loyal corner man and Jackie Gleason plays the unscrupulous manager. It's in black and white and has a gritty realistic feel to it.
I have always thought this is the best boxing movie I've ever seen. I saw Bert Sugarman asked this same question and this movie was his answer.
This is a must movie for any boxing fan!! :good
