BRITISH Boxing at it's Usual DISGUSTING Self again tonight! and some people on here can't count past 11 and PRETEND there is no Corruption in Boxing, especially British Boxing. the Englishman WON and I am Scots... the main point of course - this Taylor - is Scotland's potential Greatest, the Best of Britain a World Chumpion worthy of Historical Legend??? get stuffed, this is 'Why' people have fallen away from Boxing - Sub Standard INVESTED Hyped up and Protected LIES!!! and the Fury campaign is even worse.
Please provide the footage you are speaking of. I have seen Moore fights, but I don't think I have seen the one you are talking about.
1940 - Moore in Auz. Archie Moore vs Ron Richards (rematch) - July 11, 1940 - (short clip with no audio) - YouTube This content is protected
Mayfield was it, he's border to top 10 of the decade. Thompson and Dominguez were it even more. 13 successful defences is very impressive. I suppose of the 25 title-defences of Louis were maybe 10 against world class boxers. Nelson was also European champion and his last defeats were at Heavyweight, against Sanders and Akinwande, the future world champions in it (much bigger than him).
What about Aussie, call me British, call me Hungarian (born) Joe Bugner? Where does he rank and why isn’t anyone fighting over who he belongs to? Hehe.
You are overrating those fighters as you are Nelson. But hey thats your opinion so i will leave it at that.Take care
First time I have ever agreed with you! Ian John Lewis is a disgrace, but we knew that after the way he allowed Briggs to take an awful 12 rds beating from Vitali without stopping the fight and rescuing him from his own courage.Very dissapointed in Victor Loughlin too.Last night was a shameful evening!
Yes, me as well, was surprised to hear Loughlin's score card. Not that this is New in Boxing, far from it... in fact this age, especially British Promoters Influence OVER Boxing, it pains me to say Boxing IS Finished... the last 20 years have proved that Hyped Up, Trumped Up and heightened 'created' fan fare in line with this BS Spectacle, sadly Rules, and it is criminal and not just unacceptable. So many Young Hearts & Lives Broken & STOLEN by these Devils. Boxing IS FINISHED!!!
A number of incorrect assertions. Fitz was already an aged fighter and 2 years inactive for the first fight - 1899 and still fought relatively well and inflicted heavy damage. Jeffries was NOT totally unmarked from the first fight - Jeff’s mouth was cut, lumped under the left eye with a deep forehead gash above the left eye that was repeatedly reopened and bled throughout the fight. Fitz went on a tear after losing the title - including KOs over Ruhlin and Sharkey in their rematch - which defies the suggestion that Fitz couldn’t recapture or even improve himself. You can’t speculate that there “seemed” to be other opponents who accused Fitz of doctoring his bandages - I’ve read of none and neither have you. I’ve already stated that many fighters attested to Fitz power - without their suggesting illegal wraps etc. at the same time. Doctored wraps is one thing, reaching your opponent with same is another. As well as Fitz did fight relatively in 1899, he trained very hard for the delayed rematch in 1902 - wiser to Jeffries, he fought even more cleverly and therefore reached Jeff harder and more often yet was still stopped in a lesser number of rounds. Soft surgical bandages were agreed to by both parties - something which Fitz preferred due to fragile hands - no other reason. Those bandages were inspected and approved by Jeffries himself in the ring before gloving without comment otherwise. At any rate, speaking of unlikely, it would be impossible to believe that a fighter (Jeffries) would knowingly let pass his opponent wearing plaster of paris or holding any other such illegal advantage. You said Fitz throwing his gloves into the crowd was proof? How so? For one, that practice was not unheard of with innocent motive. Secondly, throwing the gloves away doesn’t hide hardened wraps - unless you’re having an each way bet that Ftiz’s gloves were somehow inherently loaded also - which a spectator in receipt of same would then be wise to also - unless you want to also speculate that the gloves were hurled to a preselected spectator - ??? Bottom line, no evidence that Fitz’s wraps were doctored or gloves loaded - rather, there are numerous testimonies (from both spectators and opposition) to the fact that Fitz was a naturally powerful and particularly damaging puncher.
I have seen this, but it's 1940, you said 1938. But anyway, Moore looks good, but not good enough to beat someone like Roy Jones or Holyfield.
