Heavy: Haye - Klitschko already lined up, and maybe to fast for the Ukranian Cruiser: Maccarioneli - Plans to unify the thwarted due to bad luck. Against Adamek or Cunningham would be a 50/50 Light Heavy: Nathan Cleverly - at least 18 months away from the divisions best Super Middle: Carl Froch - The Yanks are running scared of the Nottingham Cobra who is Calzaghe's heir. Middle: Darren Barker/Matthew Macklin you would not want to put them in with Pavlik or Abrahams. Wayne Elcock fights Maklin next and he has already been defeated by Abrahams Light Middle - We have 4 Brits Jamie Moore, Bradley Pryce, Ryan Rhodes and Anthony Small. 1 or 2 should make the break this year, but should not go near Paul Williams Welter - Jennings faces Cotto, but I would put Kell Brook in with Mosley now because he is young, fast, powerful and punches from all angles. he would have defeated the Mosley who fought Mayorga. Light Welter - Hatton nothing more to discuss + Witter will be back Light - We wait on Khan v Barrera, but Thaxton is the joker in the pack + Murrey & Alex Arthur Super feather - Nicky Cook & Kevin Mitchel. Although Cook has the belt, Mitchel has better potential. I see both holding belts at the same time Feather - Appleby - the next 12 months at domestic level before moving onto European. Super Bantam - Rendall Munroe is the European Champ and works full time as a dustman. He deserves a world title shot, but he will be destroyed by any of the big 4. Bantam - Ian Napa is Britsh and European champ, but readily accepts he would have to go down in weight for a world shot. Super Fly - Broadhurst is Commonwealth champ and is currently at domestic level Fly - Chris Edwards - He could get a European shot, but that would be at the extent of his level
You really think that Brook would have beaten the Mosley that fought Mayorga? Hands down, chin in the air Brook? Stick Brook in with someone capable of taking a shot before putting him in with Shane. Only 6 guys have gone the fulll 12 with Shane...... DLH, who had an iron chin, Collazo who has a strong one..... the rest probably got on their bike for the distance.
No chance in hell Brook beats Mosley at this moment in time. I think you're overrating a lot of the brits here. In my opinion we are likely to see very little success in the next couple of years.
i would like to see cleverly and brook in with harder opposition before the years out, then lets see what 2010 brings.
haye will be faster than wlad , but is still getting koed how can you say cleverly is 18 months away from the divisions best, he is 18 months away from a eurpean title at best you shouldnt believe everything froch says and he will never be jc's heir kell brook never beats mosley, the guy is flawed and will struggle with anyone top 10 at 147 munroe dont deserve a world title shot until he fights some higher ranked guys
1. Could be, though even as a Haye fan it's nothing more than 50/50 at best, he should still be the underdog, though of course being a Brit I think he can do it. 2. Enzo wouldn't beat either of Cunningham or Adamek. I'd give him less than a 40% chance against both. He's a top 4 cruiser at best, certainly won't unify the division. Might be good enough to get his old belt back though. 3. Good to see you are actually realistic about somebodies chances for once, Cleverly would be destroyed by all the top fighters. If he keeps improving he might, might be able to take a belt in about 2 years time, depending on the strength of the division, but if Dawson's still around, and the likes of Tavoris Cloud and Shumenov keep improving forget it. 4. Faces the toughest fight of his career by far against Jermain Taylor. Of course I'll be supporting him and think he's got a shot, he should be the heavy underdog. Won't ever be the division's number 1, not while Kessler's around. 5. I like Darren Barker, who in my opinion is by far the best British fighter at 160 at the moment - I think he beats any of Macklin, Elcock, Bendall etc. But I don't think realistically he can ever win a world title. No hopes for Britain in this division. 6. Again, none will win a world title. Moore will probably get the closest, as he has a decent chance of win the European in his next fight and might eventually get a shot, but I don't think he'll win a title. Rhodes, Small and Pryce - forget it. 7. The Mosley from the Mayorga fight beats Brook badly within 4 rounds. The Mosley from the Margarito fight - with Nazeem Richardson still in his corner, destroyed Kell inside 2 minutes. He might win a world title in a few years if he keeps improving and the division weakens over time, he doesn't have a hope in hell now though - neither do any other British fighters. 8. Britain rule the division with Hatton. I think he'll beat Pacquiao, though it's not a shoe-in and arguably a 50/50 fight. Witter can win a world title again, but I'm not entirely sure he will. 9. One of the strongest divisions in boxing. Khan is the best all-round package, but his chin and tentativeness when being pressured ensure that despite being the best all-round British fighter, he would get destroyed quicker than guys like John Murray, who has the toughness to last at least a few rounds more than Khan does against the top guys. Beat again, I can't see anybody winning a title, unless Khan's chin drastically improves - which is nie on impossible. 10. Kevin Mitchell can not beat any other belt-holding super featherweight apart from Nicky Cook. His defence is far too open, and I think even Cook would decision him. Linares and Soto would destroyed him inside 5 rounds, Baloyi would probably beat him aswell. 11. Appleby looks like a good little prospect, but it's unclear at the moment whether he'd be able to step up to European level and succeed. If he keeps improving and the division continues to weaken, he might even be able to pick up an alphabet belt for a brief period with some good matchmaking. That's a few years away yet though. 12. He does deserve a shot, but like you say any of Izzy Vazquez, Rafa Marquez, Caballero or JuanMa would easily see him off. Shame as he's a decent little operator, but won't ever go past European level. 13. Napa's found his level, like Munroe he's a good little fighter, but he doesn't have the power to be able to keep the bigger name guys off him, and he's far too small. He's reached the pinnacle of his career with the European belt, I'm afraid it's downhill from here. 14. Broadhurst doesn't look bad, but it's a pretty strong division at the moment with Darchinyan, Mijares, Arce etc all far too much for him. With Montiel possibly moving back for world title fights aswell, and the possibility of Donaire moving up, he will never win a world title. 15. Edwards isn't a very good fighter at all. He's tough and he'll give it his all, but he'd be outclassed, embarrassed and humilated against the divisions best. If the level of domestic competition wasn't so thin, he wouldn't even be British champion. He won't win the European title either like you suggest, guys like Sarritzu and Pozo would easily defeat him.
His chin isn't the greatest, but getting stopped against David Haye is by no means the way to measure a guys chin. Haye woud stop anybody at cruiserweight.
Wow! Britain has the best fighters in the world in almost every division! :nut If only people thought before posting. atsch
