vs Smecca..the newspapers said that the ref didn´t call it a kd though....but I´ve seen Jofre talk about this and he admits that it was a real knockdown....

The biggest puncher at 160 that Hagler fought was Eugene Hart.

Doesn't matter anyway. McCullough still had a better CV for opponents who hit his chin than Hagler.

In his prime, Rosendo Alvarez had an amazing chin. Just watch the way Lopez' best bombs bounced off his chin without registering.

4got about him so i added him now .
He did fight rather timidly vs Hamed which was his only fight that I watched so far , and i suppose that he did not fight much differently in his other big fights b/c if he had such n unlimited chin as some think it was then he would have been able 2b more aggressive in his fights and win .

Yeah he was pretty defensive in the Hamed fight, though i dont think he was always so defensive. It didnt help that he had as much punching power as Shirley Temple. Its swings and roundabouts I suppose. Nature gives you a rock solid chin, but it also gives you the punching power of a weakling.

Carlos Monzon is being left out here. He had a great chin...he proved that.

Yes but Monzon had the edge in most things, his chin is just another. Look at that list its not really an ATG list with great chins huh? If it is where is Ali then?

Ali belongs up there too then...for the same reasons...and Billy Graham too for that matter.

He was also knocked down by Jose Legra late in his career.

McCullough was fantastic but i'm not sure his chin was much better than Jorge Lujan.

True. He would shake off some of the hardest punches. Look at him get knocked down in Valdez II, got up in 2 seconds like it was nothing and proceeded to beat the **** out of Rodrigo for the rest of the 15 rd fight!
