The best decision Sullivan Barrera made was getting away from Abel Sanchez.

This made me laugh.

 

He has improved seemingly as a result of the switch.

 

He dropped Abel when he lost to Ward. Now he's fighting guys levels below Ward, of course he looks better. Smith is a bum.

 

Changes are necessary in life for better or worst in his case is working much happier in Miami.

 

**** you , Smith is a beast, Barrera got dropped and had to go into kill mode to beat him. How can you call Smith a bum when him and Ward are the only guys to drop Barrera?
I don't have a beef with you but you're wrong about Joe. Joe Smith loss to a good fighter and that's what happens when the best fight the best.

 

Smith has power, good chin, but he has zero skills, no experience and needs a trainer. Barrera almost got knocked out in the first round by a street fighter..................

Certain trainers work better with certain types of fighters but yeah I don't think it's unfair to suggest Barrera would beat Smith Jr with Sanchez. Smith Jr has legit power and is a tough guy but technically he's very basic.

Barrera wisely boxed and pitched a neat shut out after the 1st Rd... Getting dropped seems to be a theme for him at world level, but he gains his composure back very quick. Most heart I've seen from Cuban fighter in a long time. Hats off to him. I think he has a shot against most of division apart from the top 5, although I could see him outboxing and routing Stevenson later on providing he doesn't get caught. But given his tendency to get dropped and hurt it's hard to give him a good shot in that one.
