I think we are. Never before have there been so many top quality super heavyweights. And Joshua is king.

Breazeale is about as good as those guys Tyson used knock over in the first round in 1985.

Ok fair enough, I don't know every heavyweight Tyson KO'ed in the first round in 1985.
Name me one of the 6'7 250 pound guys in the top ten Tyson KO'ed in the first round in 1985, and I will stand corrected?

When you get two undefeated champs in a division it always creates excitement.
Had Wladimir not lost to Fury, and beaten Joshua people would be saying it is not as good as they are now.
Seen this pattern in other weight divisions over time

I'm sure it does not, but for many others it does.

It is interesting times at HW.
Just look at how in around 40 UK HWs there are Joshua, maybe T Fury, H Fury, Whyte, Chisora, Haye if he recovers from injuries, Bellew. Dubois has just turned pro, and Joyce may turn pro

I agree and its a great thing the division is livening up but its got a way to go before being compared to the other golden ages of heavyweight boxing. I can see how things can get hyped and its probably a good thing in a way to promote the sport, but trying to compare or make out this era is the best ever is a bit silly.

some of the fighters you mention are not even viable contenders, its not clear they will come back the same if at all. Fury is out, Wilder is a phoney with limited boxing talent, teh others would be cannon fodder for Joshua. anyway I am not saying its a complete lost cause but to say this era surpasses others in exciting match ups is pretty lame really.

I think its down to what people like and what they are looking for.
There are many ages that are golden at the time and this era has a chance to be one of them in that the HWs today are a new super size if that makes some sense and if they face each other it could create big interest. Consider Joshua/Klitschko was a massive live crowd and if T Fury was to come back well, I think that could draw a big crowd, as I think Wilder could against either or even if Wladimir was to attempt to face any of them
