The best fighter at 140, all time, you'd give Hatton even odds against?

That Hatton has even odds against, Alfonso "Peppermint" Frasier is probably the best Hatton would have beaten, he probably would have even odds with Saoul Mamby.

Hatton is no where near good enough to beat the other absolute elite at 140lbs such as Pryor, Chavez, Cervantes, Benitez, prime Tszyu, Loche, or Ortiz.

No. Tszyu was shot, inactive and coming off some serious injuries yet still gave Hatton a life and death experience even though the illegal tactics from Hatton's side were getting TOTALLY out of hand.

Hatton fought ugly, dirty and outside the standard rules of boxing with a handpicked ref in his hometown against an old Tszyu who barely threw the famed right hand.

In America, neutral ref, I think an old Tszyu would have made the twelve rounds and probably would have taken a decision. You only have to look at the fight and think the knock down (+1 point to Tszyu) and low-blow (-1 against Hatton or DQ) and the fight was even.

A prime Tszyu stops him cold. I don't even have to think about it. Not in the same league.

I've althought thought Hatton would beat Locche. There is very few bigger styles advantages for him to have against another great fighter. Same with Pryor. They are both ATG's, but Pryor would win at least 85% of fights against Locche. Hatton isn't as good of a fighter, but I think he should be able to beat Locche because of his style.

    Hatton UD12 Locche.

riiiiiiiiight, this being after he demolished mitchell who was recognised as the no.1 just a few months before

tsyzu had not gone 12 for a long time because he was knocking everyone the **** out

that doesnt mean he was shot the second he actually got pushed into fighting for his life the first time in ages

Are you joking?, he fought Mitchell nearly 1 year before he met Hatton. Tszyu was inactive because of serious injuries. Yes Tszyu WAS past his best when he met Hatton, hardly requires brains if you watched enough of Tszyu before that. Also Hatton needed to use every single illegal tactic in the book and still went life and death with that version of Tszyu.

Er...Tszyu retired after the Hatton fight.

He was done. It wasn't a prime Tszyu in there. Not even close.

You simply don't understand Australian sporting culture.....

One of the things they are great at is getting out when the time is right, leaving on their own terms. If Tszyu felt he could have beaten Hatton in a rematch he would have taken the fight, but stylistically Ricky was a nightmare for him :deal

It wasn't a peak version of Tszyu, but certainly not shot or way over the hill - stylewise I would back Hatton to beat any version, anywhere. The low blow was shocking, but Tszyu was hardly an angel in there himself.

    Using Boxrec top 20......

    1 Nicolino Locche 117 (14) - 4 (1) - 14
    2 Julio Cesar Chavez 107 (86) - 6 (4) - 2
    3 Antonio Cervantes 91 (44) - 12 (2) - 3
    4 Kostya Tszyu 31 (25) - 2 (2) - 0
    5 Bruno Arcari 70 (38) - 2 (2) - 1
    6 Aaron Pryor 39 (35) - 1 (1) - 0
    7 Carlos Hernandez 60 (44) - 13 (6) - 4
    8 Eddie Perkins 74 (21) - 20 (1) - 2
    9 Duilio Loi 115 (26) - 3 (0) - 8
    10 Juan Martin Coggi 75 (44) - 5 (0) - 2
    11 Hector Camacho 78 (37) - 5 (0) - 2
    12 Roger Mayweather 59 (35) - 13 (6) - 0
    13 Louis Kaplan 121 (29) - 21 (3) - 18
    14 Meldrick Taylor 38 (20) - 8 (4) - 1
    15 Saensak Muangsurin 14 (11) - 6 (2) - 0
    16 Frankie Randall 59 (42) - 18 (12) - 1
    17 Willie Joyce 72 (16) - 21 (0) - 10
    18 Len Davies 39 (6) - 27 (2) - 2
    19 Hector Thompson 73 (27) - 12 (7) - 2
    20 Joao Henrique 43 (32) - 4 (2) - 1

Quite a few of these are from days way gone by, therefore I have no idea as to how good they actually were.

I would back him to beat Mayweather, Camacho, Tszyu and a few others (Locche and Pryor) - but certainly not Chavez, of whom he is just a weaker version.

He would school Saoul Mamby - hey get the fight on, Saoul has been calling him out for a while. Mamby lost to Kevin Carter, whom Ricky almost KO'd with a nothing jab in about his fifth or sixth fight.

Err... being Australian I think I understand it perfectly. And he didn't have a rematch clause and Hatton's team REFUSED a rematch.

'I would back him to beat Mayweather, Camacho, Tszyu and a few others (Locche and Pryor) - but certainly not Chavez, of whom he is just a weaker version.'

Sorry, but did I read that right? Hatton would beat Mayweather, Camacho, Tszyu, Locche and Pryor?

My friend, get off the crack pipe. It destroys lives.
