Completely dominated Nate Mardquardt and for 4 rounds did the same to arguably the greatest fighter of our generation , i think he's worth an outside mention

Styles make fights. Both have a habit of being dominated by wrestlers, Chael has a habit of tapping out too often

Agreed on Hendo, Fitch, Shields, Maia, Miller, JDS, I think within 2 years there'll be a bunch of lightweights and new featherweights on this list.

But seriously Trigg, Bisping, Sonnen, Sanchez, Condit, and IMO even Koscheck should not be mentioned in this thread

If you read the thread, you will see I was not naming these fighters as contenders for the best UFC fighter never to win gold, you will see I was naming them as guys who are considered by some to be superior to Kenny Florian. From the ones you mention there, I definitely consider Sanchez and Koscheck as better than K-Flo, and wouldn't argue with anyone who thought Sonnen and Condit were better as well.

I don't think Kos is really up there with K-Flo. Kenny has proven he can make FW and perform and he was a top contender at LW with wins over the likes of Guida and Gomi. He has some stellar wins in....

Roger Huerta (ending a 17 fight unbeaten streak Huerta was on and Huerta was coming off a win over Guida)
Joe Stevenson (who at the time had recently beaten Guillard, Pellegrino and Tibau with a loss to Penn inbetween)
Clay Guida (coming off a split decision loss to Sanchez, Florian beat him more decisively and Guida has been on a tear since that defeat)
Takanori Gomi (in Gomi's UFC debut)
Diego Nunes (coming off a win over Mike Brown)
Joe Lauzon (on a 6 fight win streak)
Sam Stout (on a 9 fight streak and had just beaten Spencer Fisher)

His prime losses are to elites of the weight class in BJ Penn, Gray Maynard and Sean Sherk.

    Definitely Fitch.
Are we only talking UFC gold? Hendo won multiple titles in Pride.

Nate Marquardt had never been handled like that before , and Anderson Silva had outclassed and submitted Dan Henderson (long time mentor of Sonnen) , for me the way he fought Silva alone warrants him a place on this list , for all intents and purposes he has to be ranked in the top 3 MW's in the world , he is susseptable to submissions in top position but clearly that is something he's getting better at ..............
