Who do you guys think is the best fighter Shavers would beat?

When it came to A level opposition, he seemed to shine against out-fighters. Although he didn’t beat Ali and Holmes, he gave them wars.

His durability seemed to hurt him against power punchers and boxers.

We never did get to see him against good swarmers.

I think Wlad, Lewis and Vitali had put Shavers in ICU bed in first 10 rounds and maybe had turned into paraplegic for all his remaining life or had put him in coffin.

Shavers wasn't that good. I will say Norton, because he actually did win it.

Any heavyweight he landed on cleanly with a less than stellar chin and average defensively.

Agreed. Norton and Ellis. I'd give him a puncher's chance to pull off a win occasionally against somebody like Jack Sharkey, if they fought multiple times. Shaver's could hit very hard, and it's unlikely many could go 10-0 with him

He could have ko'd pre-Steward Wlad...this might be outrageously unpopular, but he might have caught up to early 90s Lewis.too, who was WAYYY less cautious and near reckless early on.

    (ducks)

Of course, LL would have known of Earnie's power, so he might have cleaned up his act before the first bell rang.

Post-Steward Wlad would have half killed him.

    He might have flattened Ruiz.

He’d definitely lay out Tommy Morrison and beat 90s Foreman, but I’m not sure I’d call them the best.

Maybe Marciano, but I lean towards The Rock.

Jimmy Ellis and Norton were his high marks, would he have come out on top against say Chuvalo and Bonnavena? I'm not sure, I don't think so.
