Suzie has informed the forum that he likes getting stoned from time to time. I'm guessing that this is one of those occasions.
He would have a verry real chance against Ken Norton. Dosnt seem fair when you compare their physiques.
A punchers chance against many better heavies. Tony hung tough, was not easily dissuaded and was genuinely big and powerful. Not classy by any stretch but dangerous. He certainly hit harder than Henry Cooper and we saw what Coop did to Clay. You never know.
I'd pick Galento to beat a few "good" fighters. I'd imagine he'd beat a few name heavyweights of the 80s and 90s : Tyrell Biggs, Tony Tubbs, Carl Williams, Bruce Seldon for example.
why not? galento has a granite chin and solid stamina and a killer left hook, he nearly knocked out the great joe louis. wladmir was knocked out by 37 year old flabby B level corrie sanders left, and punched himself out and lost to brewster. he could easily get frutstrated by not being able to put galento away(which max baer couldnt) and get caught by galento.
Because Sanders, even at that point, didn't have disgusting power, right? Your bias is flat out ridiculous.
I agree with Russell. Galento was a colorful journeyman who ascended to the ranks of contender in a talent starved W.W. II era of boxing. I would not favor Galento over any great fighter, but I would give him a chance to upset a few....perfrablely if they were lacking on defense, had slow feet, and a weak chin. But then again great fighters don’t have triple negatives.
