Who are they and why? 140: Terrence Crawford- 26-0 (18KOs), WBO Champ, 4-0 (2) in World title fights, wins over Prescott, Klimov, Burns, Gamboa, Beltran, and Dulorme. Lucas Matthysse- 37-3 (34) 1NC, former WBC and WBA Champ, 3-1 (3) in World title fights, wins over Harris, Soto, Peterson, Molina, and Provodnikov, all of his losses have been close... Judah, Alexander, Garcia, never stopped, has dropped almost everyone he has fought. Lamont Peterson- 33-3-1 (17), former WBO, IBF, and WBA Champ, 5-2 (3) in World title fights, wins over Khan and Holt, draw with Ortiz, close loss to Garcia, clear loss to Bradley and Matthysse (LKOby3). Ruslan Provodnikov- 24-4 (17), former WBO Champ, 1-2 in World title fights, wins over Alvarado and Castillo, all of his losses have been close... Herrera, Bradley, Algieri, and Matthysse, never stopped. Jose Benavidez- 23-0 (16), WBA Champ, 1-0 in World title fights, wins over Herrera and Paez. Mauricio Herrera- 22-5 (7), former WBA Champ, 1-2 in World title fights, win over Provodnikov, all of his losses have been either very close or at least somewhat close... Anchondo (SD), Alvarado, Mayfield, Garcia (MD), and Benavidez, never stopped. Adrian Broner- 30-2 (22), former WBO JLW, WBC LW, and WBA WW Champ, 6-1 (5) in World title fights, wins over Malignaggi, Molina, and Molina Jr., clear losses to Maidana and Porter, never stopped. 147: Manny Pacquiao- 57-6-2 (38KOs), if his shoulder is 100% he is still a very special fighter, 7-3 in his last 10 fights, in those 10 fights he has wins over Margarito, Mosley, Marquez, Rios, Bradley, and Algieri, close losses to Bradley (one of the worst decisions I've ever seen) and Mayweather (I had it even), and a clear loss to Marquez (LKOby6)... in their 4th fight. He hasn't had a KO in his last 10 fights, his last KO was 1 fight prior... KO12 Cotto. He has dominated in 6 of those 7 wins though (the win over Marquez was close), and in the opinion of many he dominated Bradley even though Bradley got the win. He scored many knockdowns in the last 10 fights, he even dropped Marquez in their 4th fight. He has to be #1 right now. Thurman 26-0 (22), WBA Champ, wins over Chaves, Guerrero, and Collazo. Brook- 35-0 (24), IBF Champ, has win over Porter Porter- 26-1 (16), former Champ, win over Alexander and Broner. Bradley 32-1-1 (12), former Champ, wins over Peterson, Alexander, Pacquiao, Provodnikov, Marguez, and Vargas, a draw vs. Chaves, a clear loss to Pacquiao. Garcia 31-0 (18KOs), former Champ, wins over Khan, Judah, Matthysse, Herrera, and Peterson, some of the wins have been very close though. Khan 31-3 (19), former Champ, wins over Maidana, Judah, Alexander, and Algieri, KO losses to Prescott and Garcia, close loss to Peterson. The rest- Alexander Chaves Rios Vargas Spence ...and maybe Maidana and even Marquez if they get a solid win at WW.
Crawford or Matthysse at 140. I'd give it to Lucas myself based on who he's beat and as mentioned earlier all his losses were close. 147....... All depends on who Pacqiauo fights and how he performs, other than that, the division is open. Deep down I feel Brook is the best out of them all. If only Khan would grow a pair.
You can throw Guerrero and Berto at the end of the list as well. There are a few other unproven guys but I will wait to see how they do on their next outings before saying too much about them.
