Ok guys, having a recent look at the Ruddock-Tyson fight of 1991, it got me thinking who were the 8 best heavies head to head. If you post your top ten list give height, weight, fight footage and reasons why.

Also I got the weight by adding it all up for there 1990s fights, and diviving by the amount of total fights they had in the decade. Of course if you can copy mine if you have similar fighters.

    1. Lennox Lewis 6'5 - Mean weight in 1990s 235 pounds

    Fights - 31 (Knock outs - 22)
    Wins - 29

    Honourable mentions M. Moorer, R. Mercer, V. Klitshcko, T. Tucker, O. McCall, L. Holmes and G. Foreman

  2. Tua and Ibeabuchi are too high.

I'd take Moorer and Foreman over Tua (Moorer especially).

Morrison, despite beating Big George and Ruddock, was starched by Michael Bentt. Wasn't he like 10-1 going into the fight. Decimated him.

Morrison was very good, but not all that H2H IMO. Big George, IMO, had wins over Moorer and Briggs, was nails, hit hard and was crafty. Not the quickest, but he'd do as well or better than Morrison would against the majority of 'em.

It is tricky, I ain't posting lists and mean weights, but this should spark some debate.

Ibeabuchi against Byrd was very impressive IMO. Byrd was no joke, but wasn't that in 2000? It might be '99, ain't checkin'...

After the big 4 its on a balance, Foreman was outboxed by Morrison,, Schultz and , struggled versus Stewart.

Moorer chin was a real weakness, and got blown out by Tua in a round..and most high quality punchers I feel would take him out.

Holmes did better than Foreman in the Holyfield fight beat McCall and Mercer and should have at least gotten a draw against Nielson.

This is all fair, I agree. Mercer>Morrison, pushed Lennox hard, smashed Morrison, wobbled Larry with a jab, iron chinned, hard puncher...better H2H than Morrison. I would say your criticism of Moorer is true for him as well.

  10. I don't think Moorer's chin was that bad. He wasn't banged out in his prime by anyone that he shouldn't have been.

The Foreman defeat wasn't great taking into account his lead at the time, but that's the way he was, a pretty ****ed up kinda bloke.

Outside of the big four I'd take him over anyone else, at his best he'd beat Tua handily.

Interesting that Tyson only had 13 fights, Bowe and Lewis weighed less on avg than Ruddock.

Holmes late run with the wins you mentioned (although I ain't seen the McCall fight, I have it so don't know why but it should be on my to-watch list) is why I rank Mikes destruction of him so highly, still that's the 80s but yes Larry was old but still solid in the 90s.

I don't reckon he'd beat Tua at any stage, he went life-and-death with Bert Cooper.

Where would Wlad, Vitali and Haye fit into head to head with the 1990s guys. Any thoughts?

  15. I've never been on the Tua bandwagon, aside from having a big left hook and a solid beard I think he was pretty crap to be honest.

I suppose Moorer being the arrogant ******* he was might lose himself the fight by trying to get Tua out of there or really bash him up..... if he fought in a more cautious manner he'd have done better.

There's obviously a few subtle differences between him and Chris Byrd, Byrd was quicker on his feet and probably had a better chin, whereas Moorer had much more in his fists.
