Marvin Hagler has to be the biggest sore loser in the history of boxing. It's 2018 and he's still bitter. Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera are buddies now. Roy Jones and James Toney have buried the hatchet. Muhammad Ali was at Joe Frazier's funeral. But Marvin Hagler still hates Ray Leonard .

Ya it doesn't seem he will ever get over that huh.. I wonder if he has ever said publicly that he just underestimated Ray and had a bad game plan and lost the mental game as well. Doesn't want to give Ray credit for much, just wants to knock him instead of taking that responsibility

Well, he won the fight and got the shaft. It meant a lot to him.

To be fair to Hagler, he does credit Leonard with the 'FASTEST FEET'

Those best they fought things I use to like, but they never give the credit to the person who beat them. It is always someone they beat whom they give the most credit to.

Hearns landing more in his 3 ill-fated rounds v Hagler than Ray did in his first 3 rounds and he hurt Hagler, Tommy would have beaten Ray at middle at this stage of his career before he started making mistakes all over the place, he fought well against Marvin and only got caught so much because they were fighting in at close quarters and Hagler was a master at outbrawling talented fighters like Tommy, far more impressive performance than Ray v Hagler I feel.

Marvin simply can't accept that Leonard had far more left than he or most others thought he had. And that starting slowly and boxing orthodox allowed Ray to build up a rhythm.

I still say after all these years that Ray won that fight 7-5 in rounds.

While I'm sure Leonard fans would love to hear Marvin admit that he lost, there are plenty of spectators of the bout that think otherwise - so, why should Hagler accept the 'how Leonard won' narrative?

BEST CHIN -Alan Minter??? A joke of a pick. Minter was Ko'd 8 times, 7 of which happened before he meet Hagler.

I think the key here is Hagler fans need to accept he fought the wrong fight ( some will ), and gave 3 or 4 of the early rounds to Leonard. ( few admit this )

Leonard had not fought in three years and had fought just once in the previous five years.

Cant agree with u more Stevie .When it boiled down to it
Hagler was at the back end of his career ,Who'd ever he faced at that point would either have beaten him or give him a fight from hell.
And Marvin underestimate Ray im sure of it .The time out sugar had ,the loss to Duran ,the near loss to Tommy ,he must have looked easy picking s for Marvin .
As u point out he started slowly for What ever reason reason ,did him no favour s at all .I'm a fan of Haglers but he didn't do enough to win .
