I wait with interest, you know all those 'unimportant' fighters all we 'experts' disregard... it always amazes me how many 'actual' fighters DON'T! :deal
I'd say he'll list ron lyle...thats an obvious one I think....but wonder will he give a little nod to jack o halloran as a wild card thought
BEST OVERALL Muhammad Ali BEST BOXER Between Holyfield and Young gave the edge to HOLYFIELD. BEST JAB Ali BEST DEFENSE Holyfield BEST CHIN Ali "I was a bit too egotistical to understand nobody had knocked him out, ... he had more pride than any other human being I ever met in my life" BEST PUNCHER Ron Lyle "He hit me so hard it didn't hurt" FASTEST HANDS Holyfield. Ali had the fastest right hand, but Holyfield had the best mox of speed and combination punching. FASTEST FEET Jimmy Young SMARTEST Ali STRONGEST Lyle Foreman: He (Lyle) was like "I'm as big, strong, and tough as you are" Hope the quotes are allowed. Let me know if I can post verbadim.
Interesting, I like those "best I faced". I remember Shane Mosley had an interesting interview too in which he said Winky Wright was not the hardest puncher he faced but he was still physically the strongest (in the clinch). I once "spoke" to Foreman a few years ago via email and he said Ali was inhumanly brave. I remember from an interview that Foreman once said when Lyle knocked him down he thought for a second that if he wouldn't get up people would say he doesn't have this and doesn't have that...., so he said he decided in that moment he was willing to die against Lyle and he got up.
It is interesting to compare Foreman’s answers to Tyson’s answers, because they both give a very strong endorsement to Holyfield, despite the opposition they fought between them. Just saying.
was it foreman who said that hitting ali was like hitting concrete ? can't remember if it was him, but one of ali's high profile opponents said it.
