Shawn Porter getting a bit irate on his podcast when one of his co-hosts said that even the best version of Shawn couldn’t beat a prime Kell Brook. I think I agree to be honest… Brook really timed him and picked him off, better than anybody else did really. It’s the loss that seems to hurt Porter the most too which makes you think it’s the one he struggled in most.

The Porter against Spence Vs Prime Brook… Who wins?

Prime brooke was a monster. Too bad he decided to jump 2 weight classes up and have the prime prematurely beat out of him by the kasak monster GGG.

Brook was just a little better allround and fought a fresher version than either Spence or Crawdord.
    Brook all day for me.

There are no doubt some cats lurking who would like to diminish the value of Brook's best win by suggesting 2014 Porter was significantly less than than the version who fought Thurman, Swift, Spence, but **** 'em.

Of course Shawn would like to think he would've beaten Kell on about any other day. It's an L that always irked him, whether because it was his first or because Kell is a product of Britain, Iunno.

Watched that fight many times, very close fight. With a few adjustments Porter beats Brook. Brook was fairly one-dimensional.

Unpopular opinion I know. We all know the majority are always right.

Good post, Porter and Brook met close enough to their primes, if not in it. The 'best' Kell Brook already beat the 'best' Porter, if Porter wasn't at his best that night then that's on him. Brook beat him in his own country, on his own tv network with his own judges. End of!

Brook did beat the best version of Porter. Totally the wrong style for Porter

Kell Brook beat a better and young Shawn Porter more convincingly than Crawford. Kell Brook was good a nullifying Porters bum rushing and picked him off with lovely shots all night. Recently watched it back, that was 8-4 arguably 9-3 Brook fight. No idea how people had it closer tbh

Add to that Crawford was losing on the cards for many against part time commentator mid 30s Porter up until his Dad threw in the towel for no reason. That was one of the fishiest stoppages I've seen in a whole. Porter was arguably more hurt against Spence.

A pre-GGG Brook beats both Spence and Crawford. Brook should never have fought GGG. Literally ****ed his own career up

I haven't watched the fight in several years

Porter's a tough customer I imagine he probably could have done better I'm not saying he could have one maybe that's why he's better maybe he feels he underperformed.

Also losing his 0 and that belt probably cost him a big fight or some extra money somewhere

Brook hands down. He was just the better all around fighter between the two.

That was the best Shawn Porter. It's not like he added a whole lot of wrinkles to his game; and if he did, they're probably not helpful or energy efficient. Sometimes when Shawn would try to look cute and box a boxer it looked awkward and ineffective, and he was better off pressuring and mauling.

What.. their fight could have went either way, and Brooke was just the one lucky to get the nod. Just like in Porters losses to Thurman and Spence, razor close fights that could easily have gone the either way. Brooke was very good at 47 and i wish we would have seen him stay there instead of chasing money with the GGG fight that ruined his career.
