I think he is a bit of a prat actually ,maybe a good motivator, but the strategy came from Benton, all that screaming and histrionics , undignified , attention seeking.
An obese old man, with a heart condition, should not have been performing like an ass, he did not help his boxers ,just created chaos.

Never thought much of Lou as a trainer. I often looked at him puzzled when he gave instructions to his fighters. He was too much of a hot head too, but he surrounded himself with knowledgeable people and his son in law has become a top notch guy (Brooks).

Didn't he get flattened in a fight by the other corner's trainer in Buffalo?I am thinking it was a fight involving Livingstone Bramble, but I could be mistaken.Lou was way to hyper to be in a corner during a fight.

Incredible that this fat man with a bad heart has already doubled late son Dan's total lifespan, and is approaching 90. (He suffered his first heart attack over 30 years ago.)

Yes it is. He looks horribly physically. His face looks like its melting downward. I think his grandchildren swing from his chin it hangs down so far.

Paz became a super middle. I dont think he was juicing until after the car wreck. If Paz could punch he would have been a lot more fun to watch

I have first hand experience of one.

Myself a few mates went up to Lewis/Ruddock, we had one or two too many beers, and only got to see the main event.

Anyway afterwards we had just found out about Meldrick Taylor's upset loss to Espana, when we literally bumped into Duva and a few of his entourage.

With the Dutch courage that comes with the abuse of alcohol, my mate starts ripping into Duva, mocking the shot Taylor...

Duva went for him, but was stopped by some of his staff members, who then started chasing us. We nearly all got away, but My mate (who did the mocking) did get caught and was lucky to just get away with a black eye. Justice I guess was done.

did duva blacken his eye? lou realy fancied himself as a banger. 20 odd years ago I remember reading lou saying in an interview (after yet another ring riot) "I never hit him, if I did he'd have known about it, I hit harder than my fighter" or something to that effect--all 70 years of him...

Duva was Andrew Golota's chief sparring partner ahead of his bout with Lennox Lewis, and this was said to ruin the Polish fighter. The beating was so severe. This would also account for his tendency to hit below the belt, as the same shots would usually be hitting the opponents temple in sparring.

No Duva just stood there bright red, shrieking "Get out of here you bums"; it was his staff that did the chasing.
