Epic fight with Benn last week in terms of entertainment and back story but I’d argue neither has a good shot at beating a champion at 160lbs. Factoring “Legacy”, money and long-term health, what would you do next if you were Eubank. For me personally, I don’t think he’s the the same since moving back to 160lbs.
I hope Eubank retires, now would be the best time in my opinion, he earned a big purse and defeated Benn, he would come away with a win and a lot of money, what's better? Unfortunately I think he will continue.
Big money in a Canelo fight which I think he loses convincingly, big money in a rematch with Benn but I would be concerned for his well-being and chances of winning again if it’s below 164lbs and it would massively hurt his ego losing to Benn. I’m not so sure he can even make 160lbs anymore but I don’t think he beats Zhanibek or Adames. For me it’s either Canelo then retire or just retire now.
For health: Retire. Taking so many shots in a bout after that level of weight cutting can't be good for you. May have untold effects years down the line. For money: Canelo at 168. Benn 2 would probably make even more money but there's no way he can make the weight again.
After seeing how weak he was against such a smaller opponent I'd say his time at 160 is history and I'd say a guy like Mibilli would bust him up at 168. Seek a cash out fight and retire
He'll rematch but he'll have to do that weight cut again....wasn't too bad let's be real. I think if he preserves his energy better for the late fight he can stop Ben rather easily.
I always ask when names like this is mentioned but how does Canelo justify fighting this guy. Then again they dragged up Charlo and there were people defending it.
Canelo has spoken a lot about fighting in London before he retires. If he gets the opportunity, he should take that over anything else. allowing the Benn fight to marinate for another year is fine by me.
He simply cannot make the weight for a rematch. Visions of him coming out of that heat tube already took some prestige off the first fight. Big fights should be guys at the their best not their worst. He needs to move up again
