I normally judge nicknames on how well they fit the fighter. From that perspective... 'Thunder' works really well for Gatti. 'Prince' is just perfect for Hamed. Hard to think of something that would suit him more. His swagger demands a Royal nickname, but 'King' would be too distinguished. Prince works. 'Hitman' is made for Hearns, with his elegant boxing ability but rapier-like right-hand, utterly deadly and precise. 'The Greatest' is perfect for Ali, in terms of how he promoted himself and behaved, and I actually do think he was the best heavyweight of all time. I haven't seen much of Robinson, but 'Sugar' definitely suits Leonard. 'Sweet Pea' sounds odd at first, but definitely works for Whitaker's slick style -- watching him jab and move, duck and weave, clown in the corner, dodging multiple hooks in a row from Roger, etc, 'sweet' is the first thing that comes to mind. Tasteful and flashy at the same time. 'Will o' the Wisp' for Pep is one of the best ones I've heard. Some of the ones I dislike the most: 'King' Khan. I actually quite like Khan at times, but this nickname doesn't suit him at all, his personality just doesn't click with it, even though he's a champ. (A bit of a green champ on world level too, if one can say that.) 'Hitman' Hatton. Horribly unsuitable in both his style and personality. In fact it's almost the opposite of what I think when I see Hatton. Hatton was always more of a Gimli-type guy, with very little refinement. 'Galaxy Warrior' sounds like some sort of secret Star Wars project. Dire. 'Money' suits Floyd's persona, but I think his ace skills deserve a better nickname, to be honest. 'Pretty Boy' is better in that respect, but still a bit meh. 'Vicious' Vivian Harris. What a joke.
