Tell me who in British Boxing History was supreme in these areas: (a) Hardest Puncher. (b) Fastest Puncher. (c) Best Defence. (d) Most Naturally Gifted. (e) Most Aggressive. (f) Most Intelligent (ie: Ring Intelligence). (g) Best Chin. Naturally this is a P-4-P discussion.
on some of them it depends what you mean, like p4p puncher or what. bruno always hit hard and Benn was always very agresive, Hamed was quick. but i will have to think about alot of them
Hardest puncher - Bob Fitzsimmons Best defence - Jim Driscoll Aggressive - Joe Calzaghe Intelligent - Lennox Lewis Chin - Carl Froch
Yep, this is a P-4-P discussion (I should have put that in; apologies). Have a wee think and get back to me. Am interested in the Brit Forum opinion here.
Good thread. On a serious note, for chin you have a guy like Benny Lynch, knocked out once in his 108th and final fight. But he was an excellent boxer, he didn't get hit. Maybe another candidate for best defence. Ted 'Kid' Lewis is a candidate. Wayne McCullough, the punishment that guy could take is unreal.
(b) Fastest Puncher. - I guess Khan, not knowledgable on past fighters. (d) Most Naturally Gifted. - Prince Naseem Hamed
(a) Hardest Puncher. Nigel Benn (b) Fastest Puncher. Joe Calzaghe (c) Best Defence. Michael Watson (d) Most Naturally Gifted.Ken Buchanon (e) Most Aggressive.Nigel Benn (f) Most Intelligent (ie: Ring Intelligence).Lennox Lewis/calzaghe (g) Best Chin.Chris Eubank This is only for fighters i know anything about /within my life-time.
I wouldn't mind if you were right He was born in N. Ireland, if we're going to be really picky he's naturalised as American
I'm an Irish nationalist from Belfast, but I have no problem with Belfast born Wayne being included; I know that Wayne himself, for obvious reasons, would have no problem either:deal
Ha Ha, I suppose I started it, but ill drop it here, not because im wrong (im not im right) but because theres enough politics in boxing, and i dont want to ruin a good thread
