The Best Of Michael Spinks Versus The Best Of Jerry Quarry For All The Money In The World

I'm going with Spinks. His two wins over Holmes is > any of Quarry's wins.

 

I like Spinks in this one. Michael was more technical and a better all around boxer than Many of the contenders who quarry beat. He could take a punch, go fifteen rounds, had decent power and was awkward to figure out.

 

Spinks in a 15 round war, I can definitely see Quarry pushing Spinks to his limit.

 

Easy fight for Spinks imo

 

Spinks ... I enjoy Jerry but there are too many excuses ...

 

I would love to see Jerry win this one, but my fellow St. Louis resident would beat Quarry on being awkward, longer, faster.

Spinks would be well-advised to avoid a punch-up with Jerry. Michael boxes and spoils, he wins.

 

Spinks wins, and it may even be tko.

 

I think this might be closer to a 50/50 fight. Spinks doesn't have the power to really hurt Quarry and in a 15 round fight Jerry will test Spinks stamina. A prime Quarry is better than the version of Holmes that Spinks beat or the empty whiskey bottle that was Gerry Cooney. I' might still favor Spinks but not confidently.

 

I go with Spinks. Quarry was very good and beat some great fighters, but could never seem to win the big one. Spinks by close but unanimous decision .

 

I might go with Quarry, much more proven at heavyweight.

 

But remember that HWs tended to be smaller then, even the Spinks that beat Holmes was overall larger.
That Spinks could make LHW-especially realize that from1983 it was day before weigh ins so he could be much heavier in ring-does not mean that he looked unnaturally pumped even against Tyson at a lean 212.

 

I get that they are around the same size, I just think Quarry fought all types of big men, so I give him a slight advantage here. Close one though.
