Silk meets Steel in the classic matchup as Virgil Hill meets Paul Berlenbach. Berlenbach has probably enjoyed the easist run to the semis of all four potential champs, having met bottom seed Joe Knight in the first round, former victim Battling Siki in the second and the second smallest man in the competition **** Tiger. Hill met the smallest in the second round, Mickey Walker, but met geniuses Jimmy Slattery and Bernard Hopkins in the first and third respectively...Slattery, especially, ran him close and some thought Slats deserved the nod. Whatever went before they're both in for a serious test here. Virgil Hill wins this one hands down. Not to much film of PB out there but from what I have seen he is in over his head. He has no answer for Hills jab and movement.
Virgil Hill glided to a one-sided victory over Paul Berlenbach, brightened only by some cynical fouls Berelenbach employed late to try to change the pattern. Though dull, Virgil completely dominated, winning every round against a frustrated, ill-disciplined Berlenbach.
