there are quite a few youngsters, that get the concepts behind the science and art of boxing. by the time they are my age, they will be able to tell you exactly what is happening in a ring and why. and there quite a few old dudes, that have been watching boxing decades, that dksab. even guys that call themselves boxers on here.
Yep, them baby boomers couldn't handle their child not getting the same trophy as those who won. Soccer mom's cried from the mountain tops and the boomers in charge agreed, just like that they became the participation trophy generation. Quite funny. Them darn Starbucks cups are just too offensive for em.
for example. i dont think canelo would ever make a great trainer. hes a soldier. he says that he just prepares, then just does what eddie tells him. he doesnt say "i go out, figure him out, and eddie tells me if im doing anything wrong". hes not a general.
Here’s another perspective. It doesn’t matter if a round is close or not. What matters is who wins each one. So while Canelo may have been setting up his shots, he was still losing rounds because he was less active many times. His shots may have had more power but his activity rate was not high enough to make a difference. It was a close fight until the stoppage. I had it even up to that point.
yeah I’m good with even score cards at the time of the stoppage I figured he had won 3 possibly 4 rounds. not that any of it mattered as Canelo’s game plan was to get him out of there even if it meant sacrificing some rounds ... so be it. It was a good fight.
Sure was. Saunders was a quality opponent. He was not an easy win at all. BJS was putting in serious work. Just didn’t have the firepower to match up. I think he would have had a better chance to win a decision at 160 about 3 years ago. Never cared for his troll antics but the guy knows his way around the ring. Definitely an underrated fighter IMO.
if he had to, yes. hes seen it all. but i dont think its natural to him. he wont be 5 steps ahead of the opponent like eddie is.
yeah he was definitely better at 160lbs. At least after he beat lemiieux. But that was his best victory. We’ll see what he’s got left in the tank. if he can come back from this.
Maybe that's what the judges saw in his fight against Danny Jacobs, they were giving Danny rounds for a shot he was setting Gabe up for that never came. And had Canelo never landed that shot, Gabe would be saying the same thing about BJS-Canelo that he was saying after he got robbed against Danny.
