.. working with Merchant and Lampley. For me it's Roy Jones hands down. - he knows his boxing like hardly anyone else imo - has as real of a passion for the sport as it gets - he's articulte and fast enough at delivery of what he thinks - he doesn't try to come off as witty, "cool" or anything (unlike Lennox for example), just comments naturally, with pleasure He should retire and become HBO's analyst/commentator full time if you ask me. How about you?
I hope he retires and dedicates himself to being a analyst. I'm still hoping for a tarver, B-hop, and Roy Jones panel, with James Toney taking Lederman's spot as a scorer.
I can understand that he has tonns of boxing knowledge, but who can stand to listen to that self promoting arrogance being spewed constantly in the third person. Jones and Tarver are good
Jones: "There's a weakness to the shoulder roll, and I'm one of those people that know what it is. Lampley: "Oh yeah, Roy? And what's that?" Jones: "That's not for me to say."
Glad people agree. Not taking anything from the huge knowledge of Manny Streward, I still think Jones is better cause he adds a passion and excitement to knowledge. Manny seemed like a bit too nice, too "sweet" or something for me. Roy ain't rude but listening to him is exciting. I also want to point out he's better than Kellerman, more natural. Not to say Kellerman sucks at what he does.
I disagree. Roy stutters all the time these days and forgets the boxers names on a regular basis. I loved him as a boxer in his prime and I used to like his commentating but now a days he seems a lot slower than he used to be. Might be those KO's.
Superman without a doubt. And lol at the possibility of Hopkins. No way HBO hires him. He'll just talk about his career and Lampley would have to cut him off all the time.
