I'd say out of that list Tony Thompson had the best year with Chagaev coming in second cuz anyone who beats a guy as big as Valuev and wins a title in the process can cruise for the rest of the year and still be unmatched.

Arreola and Ibragimov had good years as well and McCall notched a nice victory against Samil Sam. You're list is right on right on the money basically.

I forget Evander Holyfield . He meritus to be in the short list, doesent mather if he lost from Sulltan. He wins this year Maddalone by TKO 3, Savarese by UD 10 and shows good fight with Sulltan.

    Respect for Holyfield :good .

Surely you're joking. Holyfield LOST to Sultan and beat two tomato cans. Claming he's anywhere near fighter of the year pretty much discredits your list.

I cannot believe that Wladimir fought twice this year by July, and that he isn't going to be fighting again this year.

    What a ****ing **** show!

Good list. A few fighters could be shuffled around and it would still be a good evaluation. I might put Ruslan above Sam.
