You can see a lot of nuances of Johnson style here.

By the way, this version of fight gives us better light about the questionable KD. Johnson seemed to look at the audience and Ketchel realized that and threw a hammer. Johnson ducked the punch down, but was probably hit to the back of the head. That's my opinion about the controversial moment with the best version available.

Very clean version.Johnson is listed as weighing 205 and a half and Ketchel as 170 and a quarter lbs whilst Ketchel is unlikely to have weighed that much I think he was definitely more than 160lbs.Johnson carried Ketchel and told his friends to bet on him stopping Stan between the 12 th and 14th rds.I think Johnson was going down before the punch landed and Gunboat Smith, who sparred with both men before the fight said Jack pulled a fake knock down to add value to the film of the fight.

I always felt Johnson was under 200 , much closer to the 192 he fought Burns at than the w210 plus claimed nd the way he's shredded seems to back me up ... regardless, another amazing job by this man and the gifts he gives to us with his work ,, to me Johnson looks a lot like a blazing fast, intelligent and super talented cruiserqeighrt Floyd Mayweather ..

I am of the same opinion, having watched the KD plenty of times seemed to me Johnson was looking to the floor before the punch landed, sort of bigs up Johnson that, with his next punch he pulverises Stan. stay safe guys.

I agree. It landed where you said it did. The story of a fix came about after Ketchel died. One thing that hasn't changed before or since is dead men tell no tales.

The rumours where there before the fight actually took place and definitely directly after..After the fight the SanFrancisco Chronicle questioned the genuiness of Johnson's knockdown.W Naughton writing in the Examnier thought Johnson was faking it.Jack Welch the referee thought it a genuine KD.The Bulletin thought Johnson took a flop. The Evening Post thought it real.
