The best & Worst ECL finals for Eddie Hearn

About 4 or so years ago it was over £200, not sure how much now.

But this is a big fight and normally at least 1 pub in every reasonable town stays open and obviously more in cities etc.

I normally have friends round mine for ppv's but the last time I went to a pub for an early morning one was mab vs khan and it was packed even for that fight at 2am or something.

Pubs can apply to stay open late for one offs. And I think the fight is meant to start at 12pm so it is not too late.

 

Thats pricey for pubs then as it's gone up now no doubt too so places will gauge if it's worth it. Khan is a big mainstream name so will be interesting to see how many places do go for the footy-boxing double header.

Agreed, I seem to remember that everyone had to pay £2 to get in as well. And I remember seeing the Hatton vs mayweather fight was advertised at a pub near mine as £5 entry.

 

Sounds daft, but is charging on the door like that legal without an entertainments licence....I know **** all about the pub trade so I might be way off

 

I don't have a clue. I guess it is no different than when a pub charges for a comedy night etc. and I am guessing you can probably get a one off license (but then you would incur more costs).

 

Maybe Carl should just jump over to Wembley and knock Messi and Ronaldo out before the final?

Ignore Bayern and Dortmund of at your mercy. The Bundesliga is the best quality league in Europe at the moment and are more than capable of knocking Barca and Real out. Bayern knocked out Real at this stage last year. The ties aint been decided yet, but I reckon it will be Barca vs. Bayern and Real vs. Dortmund.

At least there aint no English teams in the final again, so that is a positive for the boxing, but just imagine an all German final in Wembley?

The best possible scenario is a Real-Barca final can't see it happening though. Both Germans have a great chance against Real over 2 legs and Bayern would be favoured over Barca over 2 legs as well

 

Got a mate who has a massive bet on Dortmund from before the start of the tournament at a tremendous price. Wondered if he'd lost his marbles but then saw them outclass City early doors and it looked a better bet. He had an interesting night the other night with that finish tho!

Think you can still get 6-1 on them . Still good value that

 

as few posters have said the dream final is real-barca.Makes it massive day of sport and will drive ppv up because loads of mates will load up round the tv and watch both.

Also real -barca will ramp up that days rags into huge day of sport pubs and supermarkets expecting record beer sales etc

After the haye vs enzo fight we didn't move for an hour!

 

went to groves -degale at the o2 wernt to bad to be fair mate however enzo-haye was bigger event o probably worse.plus by the time boxing over footie crowds should be well dispersed.

failing that park up somewhere and get the train in and out might be bit easier although hassle I know.

 

It's a ****ing great night of top sport this. I'm not sure what to do with it tho.

Do i...1) stay at home probably on my own and enjoy both in perfect peace (I like to watch big fight on my own where i don't have to listen to anyone's uneducated shite) but potentially miss a good atmosphere and a laugh elsewhere.

2) watch in a pub...guarantee of football, beer, atmosphere, mates ect. But no guarantee of watching the fight as my non/casual fan mates could **** it off and move on before it starts or the night takes a different turn and we end up elsewhere.

3) watch both football and boxing at my best mates (also hardcore boxing fan) with him and his missus. Guaranteed to see both football and fight in (relative) peace, but like being at home, potentially missing a good atmosphere and all round night out and is be unable to have a beer as I'd have to drive.

The haye vs enzo fight was a late start and the tube wasn't running when the fight finished.

So I think parking will be full and then it is ****...
