The Best/Worst Finishers in Today's Scene

    After the little debate on the Haye thread about finishing, I'd be interested to hear opinions as to who we all think are the most deadly/least deadly finishers in the current boxing scene.

    Those that always seem to get their man out of there once the opening has been made..... those that sense their opponent is there to be taken.... or those that still can't get rid even when their opponent has ''KO me please'' tattoo'd on his forehead.

    Feel free to post vids to back up your selections, or some of your favourite finishes.

    Zabs a good finisher and Pavlik too.

    Pac is one of the worst!

    Juan Manuel Marquez is a quality finisher. Gamboa is a great finisher too, the Mtagwa fight showed that. Froch was an ice cold finisher against Taylor but couldve had Kessler out of there in their fight and seemed to choose not to. Giovanni Segura is a wild brawler but always gets them out of there too.

    Robert Guerrero is a poor finisher IMO.

    He could have got Casamayor, Escobedo and Katsidis out of there but somehow managed to allow them to reach the final bell, despite hurting each multiple times.

    I think Marquez is the best that springs to mind immediately.

    Got rid of Casamayor, Diaz and Katsidis impressively, and for a short time looked like getting rid of Barrera too.

    Pacquiao isn't bad, sometimes he gets overeager.... though he hasn't been helped by having two ''let's have a kiss and a cuddle'' and one rock hard opponent in his last three fights.

    Cotto used to be brilliant too, against Gomez there was no ****ing about, keep whacking away to the body until there's no more in the tank.... he lessened as a fighter the more he boxed IMO.

    Arthur Abraham is a good finisher.He has you hurt then usually he finishes.

    Victor Ortiz is a terrible finisher

    Rios, Alvarez, Sergio Martinez and Donaire going on recent performances. Lucian Bute to.

    Bother Klitsckos you would have to class as poor but thats mainly due to there own reluctance to engage. Pascal is a poor finisher along with Ortiz, Berto, Pacquiao, Matthysse.

    Bute is a good shout.

    Tim Bradley is a pretty terrible finisher.

    Good shout on guerrero Kats is tough but he's stoppable and he shouldve got the job done.

    Froch looked a great finisher in the Taylor fight but since then (ignoring the dirrell debaucle) i think he shouldve been able to stop his opponent.

    Agree with Ortiz, wouldn't quite say terrible but so many guys he's hurt and failed to get them out there.

    I was going to say Khan is a good finisher (if you mean finishing a fight rather than knocking the guy out for the count); once he smells blood he's in there gung ho like, he may not have awesome power but it's the speed that does it more so.

    Look at Khan vs, Kristjansen and Salita as prime examples.....knock down after knock down Khan stayed on top untill the referee stepped in.

    Wouldn't say he's the best because he lacks power but he really does go for it once his opponent is hurt.

    Yup, Donaire and JMM come to mind, as does Rios.

    I no it's a little silly to say, but Paulie M. is a crap finisher, even if he isnt in that situation a lot. He had Diaz hurt but didnt no what to do, instead he just poked his tounge out :lol:

    Ortiz is pretty shocking as well!
