    Beterbiev dates are almost locked up in the Haymon universe, October and December being the targets - presumably a top 20 type in October and a bigger fight in December.

    What's interesting is that GYM president Yvon Michel explained the approach they're taking with Beterbiev (link below, French article).

    -Haymon will not make Stevenson-Beterbiev
    -Fonfara is on speed dial, Artur is fighting in Fonfara's hometown tonight
    -Under the assumption that Kovalev will eventually have to give up a belt due to having 3 X mandatories every year, they're going after the first belt he leaves vacant by fighting guys that will get him mando status at the WBO, IBF and WBA.

    ...unless the HBO vs Haymon situation never resolves itself, we'll be Kovalev-Beterbiev bound sometime next year I think.


    As an aside, Artur weighed in this morning at 182.5 lbs (Johnson 177). :bbb

    So, it seems superpimp will not have to fight either dangerman
    in his division while still remaining lineal at 175. Total BS

    ...unless A) he's calling it a day and wants to cash out or B) HBO makes peace with Al Haymon.

    Why would Kovalev have to give up one of the belts? Wlad has been defending them for 4 years. I think Beterbiev should take his chances at Braehmer.

    My guess is that for lack of bribing and/or paying sanctioning fees to all three orgs, he'll get stripped of one of them sometime within the next year.

    Getting a fight with Braehmer is not easy. You need to be low risk and go to Germany. :conf

    Actually, HBO could guarantee enough $$$$ that Sergey/Main Events COULD win purse bids or force GAYMAN to dig far deeper than he's prepared to go.

    For instance. Main Events signs Sergey to a 4 fight extension, guaranteeing him 7 mil to split between him and his opponent.

    KD checks out HUGE outdoor venues she knows she could fill, and voilos, 8 million $$$ bid.

    Thats NOT counting the canadian TV revenue KD could secure with HER star.

    Hey chitown, hope you'll be enjoying the fights live tonight... a couple of issues I see here:

    -Kovalev just signed an extension without a Stevenson fight guarantee, so that big money isn't there;
    -8M bid is Cotto type money, Kov/Stevenson aren't there yet;
    -What American outdoor venue gets filled with Kovalev-Stevenson? Can't see it, they're not draws in the US save for a few thousands of fans in AC; and
    -Did I miss the article where KD got her promoter's license in Canada? If she can't lead the promotion there, her bid isn't going to come close to a near full Bell Centre knowing that tv revenues are not affected by the fight location.
