You have this idea that I hate Oscar, but it's more his ignorant fanatics that I hate. I just enjoy making fun of them because they're so stupid and know so little about their own subject matter.

Here's my list of most hated promoters:

    1) Don King
    2) Bob Arum
    3) Gary Shaw
    4) Richard Schaefer

Oscar is a big part of the Golden Mafia, but Richard is the true evil genius behind the corporaton.

I trust De la Hoya more than other promoters, but a promoter has no business being near an independent observer of the sport. Once the active promoter purchases said independent observer of the sport, it instantly ceases to be objective.

Usually people that own creditable publications dont influence the creative process. So i dont think its that important, the only reason why its big news is cause Oscar owns it now.

Haha, somewhere Presscot (*******) is shittin himself!

Honestly?? I'm kind of Glad!!! Why?? Because IMO too many were willing to simply rely on RING when it's always been a magazine and subject plenty of flaws.

Overall, I generally respected it as a magazine and felt their rankings were generally better than most org **** but I never felt following Ring was the saviour of boxing:nono

Now, i hear the grumblings that indicate most fans will sour on that idea as well:good

What Boxing needs is a NATIONAL COMMISSION(NFL style) which is above the orgs, networks, the mags, the promoters, and state commissions. One that lays down and enforces the rules and protects the integrity of the sport. The orgs, Ring, and the usual cast of players can still exist within the structure but the power and abuse of it would be shut down.

We are a long way from that unfortunately, but now that Ring's integrity is again questioned?? Perhaps real fans, and those who care about boxing, will start to find an alternative solution to the sports problems rather than just say "Ring Champ" or Ring this, and Ring that:good

But now people are going to question things. It is the way of the beast and that in itself is bad for the sport. I mean, some questioned it because they thought it was biased towards Americans. But even then, that is not as bad as the kind of questions it will get now.

It wasn't the savior, but I'll put it like this.

If you have a 10 girls to pick from to go to the prom. 9 are ugly and 1 is average, you are most likely taking the average chick.

Ring wasn't perfect, but it was better than the alternative.

No more credibility to the ring magazine, now you will see Golden boys fighters ranked at the top and maybe awarded with the ring belt, or start a organization with the ring belt, just like the other organizations.

Yeah i guess one would definately think that, but the only reason why its an issue its cause a promotional company is gonna own it, but even today its very flawed. So now like before the people that read The Ring, its rankings and editorials will have to use their brains and not buy into everything that its selling, we all have brains afterall! I think it speak more about Oscar's commitment to boxing than anything else.

    National commision ( NFL style ) ???

Boxing is one of the few sports where anyone from any country can compete against anyone from any country anytime.
Boxing has been held up by mexican, puerto rican, english, philipinnos and now russian boxing fans. And you want an american national commision to control it??

Maybe the money is still in america, but the boxing passion is NOT!!
