He beat a Wlad that hadn't lost in 10 years and was 20 wins (I believe) into his title reign, He dominated Wilder and got robbed, and he beat a fresh undefeated Chisora then still semi fresh one a second time (old Chisora still gives people trouble to this day).
Big George is still in his 70s. It's a 50 50 fight with Wilder. He also has a big belly so he looks a lot like a modern HW.
Wlad looked horrible and was 3 month to 40. He struggled with Jennings for 12 rounds before that. Wilder put Fury in a coma for 5 seconds. Fury still won, but it was not total domination. A very hard fight.
Yes, Wlad was old but it was still Wlad. Re: Fury, you don't get put in a coma and get up. Fury won every round except the rounds he was dropped in, and honestly he ended both of those rounds stronger than Wilder. That is a total domination.
I've never bought into "the big 3" thing in that sense. I wouldn't want to bet against Tyson Fury against anyone but I've never considered Joshua and Wilder "levels above the rest".
AJ obviously lost some, fury not so much but he will with a poor showing against schwarz. Wilder never really had anything to lose..if he had been in with Whyte, Klitschko, Parker, takam, povetkin and Ruiz he would have lost by now and probably more than once. He's still to be tested imo.
Desperate attempt to bring the other two top heavyweights down to AJ's level. None of the other top there, - I'd include Whyte in there as I'd have him ahead of Joshua at this point - would find themselves dropped 4 times before quiting.
