There is absolutely NOTHING to stop a fighter from fighting as many times in one year as he wants.

And if you need to reference this anonymous "THEY", you have no argument. :patsch

No, where is that? On the DVD? I saw it at the movies, and again On Demand.

Actually there is. If one fighter takes to many shots, or gets beat up. They get a suspension from fighting.

Happens all the time, both Cotto and Margo were not allowed to fight for a certain period of time after their fight.

of course a Simple Jack like you should of known this right?

If boxers today fought as often as the fighters back in the 1930's, 40's and 50's did, a lot of posters here would label them as "cherrypickers" and only beating up tomato cans and bums, I'm 100% sure.

If a fighter gets beat up badly, they usually DO take time off anyway. But if they wanted to, there are ways around. Fighting over seas for instance. Maybe if you were half as smart as you thinkm you might know that. Or is that too complicated for a simple minded **** like you?

Wow....once AGAIN using an insult I gave you on me. You really can't think for yourself....

It's funny, because they already accuse today's fighters for having "padded records". :confAlso, not every fighter back then even fought that often... I am not sure where all of this comes from. Most of this discussion is branched off of Wlad vs Liston... and Wlad actually fought 24 fights within his first two years as a pro... and he already has more fights than Liston. They run off in so many different directions, that I am not even sure they know what they are saying anymore.

They do take time off but are also forced to. Yea they can go overseas but why risk it? When a Dr is the one to make the call on the suspension. I guess you want fighters to think ******edly, like yourself. So you can feel connected.

But Panties in a bunch much? I thought you never were one to start arguments or name call. You're the mature one right Lance?

I dont think its all that amazing that guys are fighting into their 40's these days, these guys have 40 or so fights in a 20 year career, when these older fighters had as many as 60 to 70 fights in just 10 to 15 years. some having many more than that.

Stopping what? Stopping from stooping to the level of a liar like you Eze? Sure, no problem.

The whole point is, obviously there are ways to fight MORE then 2-10 times a year. JCC sr. and Duran fought fought over 100 times dumb****.

You really need to go to college ******. You're problem is you aren't very smart or bright (not original or clever either), but you think you are. You're fine just coasting... loser... :-(

    A couple of things...

    1. You are really making a blanket statement that just isn't true. Unless you are REALLY going back, even guys like Liston, Ali, and Frazier really don't fit well in your description of fighters from the past fight so much more than guys today.

    2. Really, staying active in the way that certain people form the past did was sort of overrated anyways. In reality, fighting a long string of club fighters doesn't do anything more for you, or take anything more OUT of you, than hard sparring in a gym.
