Outside of who he would fight next, the big question is, should AJ stick with Derrick James, or fully switch to Ben Davison?

He looks much better with Ben Davidson. I hope he stays with him. James is immensely overrated anyway

    Have them together

    Give them 5% each

Twice the knowledge for half the money

I agree. I think he should have never leave UK for a coach change, and going for USA coach was a mistake.
Hell he should have aimed for trainers like Usyk or Bivol ones if anything.

how can it have been a mistake, he didn’t lose a fight under James and probably learnt a lot training in Texas. He looked as good as ever yesterday and I doubt that was all because of the short period with davinson

Yeah you are prolly right. But what i mean was the whole narrative. I'm not saying James is a bad trainer or thing. But AJ doesn't need to go outside of the UK to improve. As there was narrative, that he needs to let go out of his comfort zone.
And it's a bit hard when you are living in UK, and have to do your camps in USA, and scenario like this fight happen, as James has other fighters, and can't attend every single AJ camp.

Ben Davidson all day long. I really rate him, just hear him talk when he does commentary or analysis, this guy knows his stuff.

Fury made a mistake not getting him back, but at the time he wanted Sugar to teach him some knockouts as he thought off the back of signing his American deal he wouldn't get decisions in America. Davidson refused to work with sugar.

Joshua was such a stiff, I cant believe it took all these years to learn how to slip. I've never seen him slip before, some lateral movement at last. Davidson has obviously simplified it down and drilled him to hell and back.

Joshua will get better sparring in the USA than in America IMO

Don't change a good thing is the easy rule to follow here.

He seems to be in a good place and have had a good camp. Don't know how much that had to with Davison, but no disruptions are needed. He needs consistency with one trainer and to build on his first complete performance for I don't know how long.

Based on recent performances Davidson is the way to go between the two. He might not actually be the better trainer but something seems to have clicked between them because Joshua wasn't the timid overly thinking version we saw in recent fights. Sometimes it isn't what the trainer knows it's how he can simply put his fighter in the right frame of mind. I feel Joshua was over thinking things vs Helenius and Franklin, but vs Wallin I guess they kept things simple and Joshua was more effective because of it.

Joshua at this stage of his career isn't going to evolve much if at all, so whoever he chooses as his trainer I don't think can fix the holes in his game, at least not enough to make a real difference, he's never beating Usyk. But once Usyk and Fury retire he could end up being the defacto number 1.

I think Aj will beat Usyk in a 3rd bout. Prolly even stopping him. AJ is still in his absolutely prime, and he actually gets better, even though people don't see it. He is constantly adding to his game. He already experience Usyk twice, and if they fight again Usyk going to be 38.

I think there was already a decline between first and second bout between the two in Usyk. So now it will be even hgher.
Fighting a guy like Joshua in his prime, when Usyk is 38 is just not a smart business at all.
Prime Usyk though will always beat AJ, he will always beat anyone(on this era i mean).

Yeah, a third is not in Usyk's interest.

And I agee that Joshua is improving technically and tactically and physically he's still in his prime and will probably not start to decline for.another few years.

Joshua looked far better under Davison last night as he was confidently composed from the first bell and also started the fight with zero negative energy. However Joshua will not always be fighting a hand picked opponent who he has already beaten twice in the amateurs as well as having used him for sparring in numerous training camps also with the fighter being a recognised non puncher. We need to see Joshua in with an opponent who has the record and attributes to be a legitimate threat to Joshua and then we will know a lot more than what was shown last night. Joshua did look better last night without a doubt but let’s see him in with an opponent who can cause him problems and then we will see if his old faults re surface !

And who's that opponent buddy? And wasn't you saying that AJ was finish, mental midget, done, etc, etc., or i'm wrong ?
What happen if AJ fights Ngannou next and chins him ? Or Hrgovic?
