Hughie isn't even worth mentioning at this stage. I see nothing special in Hughie. He doesn't have half the ability of Tyson...

The kid hasn't looked world class once in his career.

 

Part of me wonders if Ruiz jr was a bit too pally with Parker. I feel like the lack of urgency made the difference between a tough spar (which is largely what it looked like) and an all-out war of attrition.

I dont know enough about Ruiz jr to say that though, it certainly looked like he had the tank to turn it up in the later rounds though. Maybe animosity would've adversely affected his own performance, I dont know.

Either way, I dont see quite the same negatives in Parker that some do. He had to be cuter in there than he's ever had to, to date, and that isn't his gig. When you're being pressured by a smart fighter who's looking to make hay every time you slip up, it's not always going to be pretty.

I think a draw would've been more fair to both young fighters.

Haye - Prime Haye may have blasted through Parker and Ruiz jr, but it's high risk against both of these guys, then and now. I'd steer clear until he's banked enough to say fu(k it. Bad stylistic match-ups for him.

Joshua - I cant figure Joshua out. Generally, when a fighter gets to a certain level, a certain amount of caution creeps into his approach, a ring intelligence that's usually preceded and sometimes produced by a KO loss or a bad performance. Joshua seems to fight with a free mind though, he forces situations and capitalises without the delay a vet usually exercises. It's like he's in the zone on demand. When he loses it'll be a KO in a fight he's winning. It's risky, but I'd pick him to get to Parker and Ruiz jr before they get to him.

H Fury - putting Fury in with either Parker or Ruiz jr is a stupid move. He isn't ready, not even close. He might be good enough, but the high probability of getting starched at 22 because you didn't have the developmental fights to bridge your way up to the top level cant be ignored.
