I realize that he thought he had Deontay's number, but there just isn't much for him to get motivated over. The fight with Joshua will be a much smaller deal now...he has said that he doesn't want Usyk or Whyte because there isn't many in those fights, which may have changed, but they still aren't the mega fight he could have had with Joshua. What is going to motivate this guy to be his best?
He is in incredible shape. Guys don't get up from those shots and knock out the opponent without having astonishing cardio, and no professional in the world will disagree with that statement.
Does he need to be? Looking at him tonight, he wasn't in the same shape as the second fight, that could be the inactivity and the long long lay off combined with his daughters birth, Covid and a stop start camp. I think we are all forgetting he hasn't fought for 19 months.. that's a long time So for him to come back, out that performance in, get off the floor twice and knock out his opponent is actually a great performance all things considered.
