Erislandy Lara is generally respected as a top boxer. Some would have him on the edge of the P4P top 10. His career is a massive "what if" though. He has a "loss" to Paul Williams, and a "loss" to Canelo. He DEFINITELY beat Williams and arguably beat Canelo too. If he had got those decisions, he would arguably be considered near the top of the P4P lists. Its incredibly how a couple of moments in a career can totally change things
If he was still undefeated, Jay-Z would have made him a lucrative Capitalist offer to fight Andre Ward, Andre Ward makes him quit and he loses the butterfly effect game
He could still make the list if he beats hurd and cleans out light middle but his not gonna fight that many tough fights in a row if he beat hurd then his back to fighting trash unless he gets to fight the smith Vs Ali winner that would be a easy fight
I agree, although I guess on the flip side the Molina draw could well have gone against him too. Can't remember the Vanes one, was that a fair result?
I’ve never liked Lara but always did like P Will so their fight was hard to watch. It was like Lara’s straight left couldn’t miss Paul’s head. But even though I didn’t like Lara it was obviously one of the most blatant, in your face robberies I can remember. Didn’t the judges get suspended after that fight?
Lara is one of the best around but those 'losses' have put him out of the picture and that's just wrong but there anre many things wrong in boxing
