five responses, all for me, after I left the debate. what spurs you guys on at this point? is it the fact that all of you have nothing to support your unfounded claims, and I do, in droves? the reason i'm done is this. Jasper's a disgruntled muslim, hellbent on discrediting american involvement in WWII for very personal reasons, using humor and numerous lol's as a defense mechanism to his idiocy, Praetorian is equal with Jasper in terms of complete lack of knowledge on the subject, but supersedes him intellectually, and nocoolfool is a wannabe history professor. Blake Rayne has the most facts and has the most respect for the war itself, and my debate with him most closely resembled a debate of factual history. To everyone but Blake Rayne, i'll make sure I steer clear of you guys in future debates of rich history, not because I fear I will be out-thought, but because I acknowledge the fact that you all bring zero to the table.

Wow, what a mess of an argument. I don't want to flaunt myself too much, but I do have two history degrees and have taught it for a number of years. So, I do feel that I have some amount of authority on the subject. That stated....

The downfall of the Germans most certainly rested in greater part to the damage they suffered on the Eastern Front. I can't imagine an historian arguing otherwise. Perhaps there was some other distinction I missed, but the idea that the USA was the catalyst for winning the European Theater is pretty ahistorical.

Also, someone mentioned the Red Scare hadn't happened by WWII. Actually, the Red Scare refers to a period following the first World War when there certainly was a fear of communists in America. The point about the lesser evil is correct, though.

Well my friend, you find yourself in agreement with a conservative American, a liberal Canadian, and a cynical Aussie. The planets must be aligned!

Hey, are you ready for this fact? Ready? Brace yourself!

Hitler declared war on the United States before the US ever sent over a regiment.

    Woah! You didn't know this?

    hmmmmm...

    Anyway:

This is a joke. So matter-of-factly spoken...

You don't think that had the Western Front not been in severe jeopardy and in the process of being overtaken, that the German efforts on the Eastern Front wouldn't have been DRAMATICALLY different than the reality which ensued because of said events in western Europe?

m8te, you are a complete fool. I would not humour you with your ideas so I am an idiot. You took a course in history and claim to be an expert but you are alone in your opinion.

TBH, that point is mute because the Germans where not direct threat to US soil yet, and was years maybe decades away from even regrouping to do so (unless the got the Bomb). It was only when the threat became overwhelmingly clear that the US felt it had to enter the war. Today Poland could declare war on the US but it doesn't mean its a threat

German High Command knew the war was lost as early as '42! With the surrender of the Sixth Army it was practically assured.
